SulkySticky Fabri-Solvy Stabilizer-White

I work with Sticky Fabri-Solvy Stabilizer all the time when making Teddy Bears either out of old fur coats or fabric. It truly does stabilize the leather (fur coats) and the fabric - making it much easier to work with and keeps the pattern pieces (especially with stretchy type of fabric) from stretching out of shape when putting together. I do not like to work without Sticky Fabri-Solvy Stabilizer.

I bought this to use in a way that was not necessarily recommended by the manufacturer. I had some hand dyed fabric and, on a whim, I cut out all the pieces and laid them out on my backing fabric. I was just playing around and really didn't intend to do anything with the project. However, I was really pleased with the result and was trying to figure out how to adhere the pieces to the backing so that I could stitch them. A friend of mine, who is an award winning quilter, recommended that I try Solvy. I used the Solvy on top of all the small pieces of my hand dyed fabric and stitched though the Solvy to adhere the pieces to the backing. The Solvy is not very transparent, so I had no idea what the piece was going to look like when I was through. But I forged ahead and, when I satisfied that all my pieces were attached to the backing, I washed out the Solvy. I then went back and stitched all the edges of the pieces. I now have a very interesting raw edge art quilt. I am still working on the quilt and plan to add lots of decorative stitching. I am very satisfied with how the Solvy performed and would use it again. It washed out easily and left no residue.

I use Sulky products and love them. I have not tried this before and actually ordered it by mistake. After I received it I can see it can be very useful in my embroidery projects. Great service and quick shipment.

This bolt does not stick as well as the 8 inch rolls. I was a bit disappointed.

I love this! Sticks to fabric & washes off.
