Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - Season 18

I do love the show. This episode (3) however is really a reach. While the suspect was clearly an imposter, the mother was clearly trying to cheat to get her son into this particular university by pressuring him and having sex with the man she thought was the Director of Admissions. Please, give me a break. Universities have catalogs which list faculty members, along with photos and mini bios. I find it very, very difficult to believe that none of these women, supposedly desperate to get their children into the university, would NOT know the name and identity of the actual Director of Admissions. This was really bad and not believable at all. Her son who killed himself is the real victim in this. Within the context of the episode, shame on those moms.

Olivia Benson's life with her Crime fighting Unit and the dramas that develop in her life outsideof her Unit. She was a Sergeant and is now the Lieutenant. Her Unit investigates sexual crimes againstwomen; assault and rape. Mariska Hargity plays the lead and heads up the Unit. Producer Dick Wolf has created one of the longest running, award winning shows over 23 seasons. The eighteenth season includes some crossover from Chicago P.D.I highly recommend these shows.

This has been one of my all-time favorite TV series. Unfortunately, I missed many episodes when it was on TV. Now with DVDs like the one I bought, I can make up for the missing episodes. The cast led by Mariska Hargitay played their roles wonderfully, keeping viewers glued to the screen. They are so convincing that these cases could be the real thing, and at the same time the social messages concerning important topics like rape and abuse are giving prominence.

Excellent quality of the video. Waiting to receive 21 and 22 episodes this week!!!

I bought this from Amazon Prime to watch the last 3 minutes of the broadcast as my DVR cut off the end. Thanks Amazon for coming to the rescue! I do plan on reprogramming the DVR to go beyond the end of the program. My bad in the first place.

This is one of my favorite police dramas and after 18 years, it is still very relevant to our times. The cast is excellent and the stories are always exciting and sometimes have an ending with unexpected twists.

Previous reviewer seriously thinks he or she paid 29.95 and only got a 5 minute recap? It's a season pass and you get the episodes as they are aired. A great show didn't warrant the 1 star review this person gave it. Try reading the instructions before you give an undeserved bad review.

I think the season is off to a slow start and I prefer the high drama of the two-part story arc. This season centers on Olivia Benson, but I enjoy all the actors in the SVU family and look forward to the episodes that center on the supporting cast. The Law and Order franchise always has a liberal agenda and goes for a ripped from the headlines attention getter-sometimes it works and in the Rapist episode, it lost my interest, except for the final few minutes that was unexpected. SVU needs to punch up the drama with guest celebrity actors or even bring in Mariska husband (real life) to add dimension to future episodes. It's nice to watch a show that never sees the network cancellation axe with a few original cast members still "on the job to protect and serve", but then I like NYC and crime shows (I watch Blue Bloods too).

This was a birthday gift for my daughter who loves Law and Order SVU. She loves the new set!

Disc 2 is scratched. I just started watching this yesterday, but unfortunately the one month return window was closed.
