They Like It!!!
Both my cats are around 2 years old and spoiled. They get a mix of high-quality wet and dry food supplemented with freeze-dried as a topper. I've had them since they were around 3 months old and I've noticed how their tastes have matured with time and they seem to have decided what they like and what they don't. They aren't big fans of fish (unless it's tuna), fair enough! I ordered this because one of their favorite wet foods is another Merrick Purrfect Bistro flavor. I don't want them to get bored or become any more finicky than they already are, so occasionally I like to toss something new into the mix. There must be something about this brand that they like, because they ate it up! I like it because it has some vegetables in it which translates to fiber, and I feel like they don't get enough of that with their protein-centric diet. This has carrots and spinach which is great to see instead of legumes which can be hard for cats to digest. I've noticed that most "grain-free" foods simply went from a grain to a legume as a filler, and I'm not sure one is necessarily better than the other. This does have good-sized chunks of meat, and my cats' preferences lean towards the texture of pate, so I did take a spoon to it to make the chunks a bit smaller. If I leave them full-size, they leave them on the plate and just eat the small bits and gravy.Overall, this is a good choice with a lot of ingredients that cats will love (at least mine do), and none of the nasties that a lot of us now go out of our way to avoid like cheap grain fillers, carrageenan, or artificial flavors and preservatives which means there's lots for cat parents to love too. The only downside is the cost. Most of the wet food I buy is in 3-ounce cans and this is only 2.75 ounces. That would be fine, but at the current price, it's $2.29/per can. That's on the high end. Giving it a French name doesn't make it a luxury product. It's still just cat food!

I am pleased to report that my cat seems to actually like this, so it's a win-win. This seems like really high quality wet food. There are big chunks of turkey with carrots and spinach with added vitamins and minerals in a light sauce. It is grain free with no wheat, soy, or corn. Each can is 2.75 ouncesOf course the quality of the food doesn't mean much if he won't eat it and my cat is supremely picky about what he eats, and what he likes from week to week can change. I've found a dry food that he seems to like, but I like to give him wet food at least once a day, but it's a challenge to find what he likes. Generally, he prefers tuna flavors and some chicken, and I've been through so many types that he takes a couple bites never to try it again, so I'm always willing to give new ones a shotThis is the turkey flavor. I've tried other turkey flavors and he never seemed to take to them, but he went right for this. If he doesn't like it he will pretty much immediately turn away. He's more of a grazer so he'll eat a little and come back every 15 minutes or so pick at it. He ate a good portion of this right away and kept coming back for a little more. I've given him this a few days in a row and he seems to really like it. With my cat, he could decide next week he hates it, but so far so goodIf I had any criticism I think my cat would prefer if it had a little more sauce and maybe a little smaller chunks of meat. That tends to be more to my cat's liking, but every cat is different and I'm just happy any time I find something he likes

Mixed Experience
At first glance, the product seemed promising. The concept of chunky gravy cat food with high-quality ingredients was appealing, and I had high hopes for a happy and satisfied feline. However, my cat's reaction to this food was unexpected and concerning. After incorporating it into his diet, he experienced diarrhea and vomiting, which were unusual and distressing. It's essential to note that my cat has a generally robust digestive system and has never had issues with food in the past. This adverse reaction raised concerns about the compatibility of this particular cat food with his sensitivities.I would like to emphasize that each cat is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. In this case, I would strongly recommend pet owners to proceed with caution when trying Merrick Purrfect Bistro Soirees Wet Cat Food, especially if your cat has a history of food sensitivities or allergies. Turkey Cassoulet cat food...
As a cat mom, I appreciate the high quality ingredients in this Merrick Purrfect Bistro Soirees cat food. I like that it is grain free and doesn’t include cheap junk fillers like corn, wheat, soy, random by-products, etc. For the Turkey Cassoulet variety, the first few ingredients are deboned turkey, turkey broth, vegetable broth, deboned chicken, dried egg product, carrots, and spinach. Upon opening the can, it looks and smells more like human food than cat food. Much further down on the ingredient list is guar gum. I’m not a fan of that ingredient, but it’s difficult to avoid it in canned cat food.I have 3 young adult cats who eat dry food and get canned/wet food twice a day. Cat #1 rarely turns up his nose at any canned food, and gobbles this up. Cat #2 is typically very picky and walks away from most canned food. Surprisingly, he loves this. Cat #3 is a mystery to me. He typically devours any canned food with glee. The first couple of times I offered him this Turkey Cassoulet, he sniffed it and walked away. The third time, I decided to lightly mash it with the back of a fork since he’s more accustomed to pate texture food. That worked and he seems to enjoy it now.At almost $2 per small 2.75 ounce can (as of the time of this review), this food is an expensive option. Before investing in an entire case, I’d suggest checking a local pet food store to see if you can buy a smaller quantity for your cat to sample.
