Good quality ingredients...
I like the high quality ingredients in this Merrick Purrfect Bistro Soirees cat food. As a cat mom, I always take a couple of minutes to review the ingredient list. It is grain free and has no cheap junk fillers like corn, wheat, soy, random by-products, etc. The first few ingredients of the Chicken A La King variety are deboned chicken, chicken bone broth, vegetable broth, chicken liver, carrots, peas, dried egg product, natural flavors, potato starch, etc. The food looks and smells more like human food than cat food when I open it. Guar gum and xanthan gum are two of the ingredients a bit lower on the ingredient list. I don’t like either of those thickening ingredients, but it’s hard to avoid them in canned cat food.I have 3 adult cats who get dry food and canned/wet food twice a day. Cat #1 is happy with any canned food, and this one is no exception. Cat #2 is very picky and usually walks away from most canned food. But he enjoys this and usually finishes his dish. Cat #3 will not eat it unless I lightly mash it with a fork, which makes it more like a pate texture food. That worked and he eats it now. This food is expensive at almost $2 per small 2.75 ounce can (as of the time of this review). I suggest checking a local pet food store to see if you can get one or two cans for your cat to try before buying a whole case.

Kitty stew
The food looks good, has small bite size cat pieces along with peas and tiny carrots. The gravy is thick. It was a brand my cat has not had before and although she did eat some of it she she lapped up all of the gravy and left most of the actual food behind. I don't think this is the food's fault though because my cat is 18 years old and doesn't like anything I give her. With that being the case dealing with a senior cat, I will have to stick with the less expensive cat food that has tons of gravy in it and hope she gets some nutrition from just that since I seem to be throwing most of it away.

Cat liked it
We fed this to a barn cat that recently had babies. She seemed to like it, she ate it. I would say this is on the higher end for pricing. But if you’re buying wet vs dry you’re already spending a little more. I’d consider this to be more of a treat or addition to supplement with a regular diet.

Merrick Purrfect Bistro Soirees Grain Free Wet Cat Food
Merrick Purrfect Bistro Soirees Grain Free Wet Cat Food is a great wet cat food to try. All 5 of my cats love this food. Nice chunks of meat and veggies with a thick gravy. I am not a cat food expert, but it looks like this has good ingredients and nutritional values. Since all the fur kids enjoyed this, we will be purchasing again in the future.

Overpriced
The price is way too high for the amount per can. The quality isn't too bad and my cat seemed to like it. I didn't notice any big change though so we'll definitely be going back to the less expensive stuff

Cat loved it, looks healthy, pricey
When I opened the can, I was surprised to see it looks like "real" cat food, if that makes sense. Most cat food just looks like little brown chunks or puree, but this looked more like a chunky stew. The can is VERY tiny, though! The instructions say to feed several cans a day, depending on the weight of your cat. At around $2/can, for my 9lb cat, that's what, $6 a day? Very expensive, but the quality is good. The first 6 ingredients are all natural (various chicken, peas, and carrots among other things). Compared to another similar size brand that's about $20 cheaper, Merrick does have a higher quality list of ingredients, however the crude protein isn't quite as much, probably due to the carrot and pea content. All that said, I feed my cat wet food morning and night and give her portions of dry food throughout the day in a hunting feeder (or an automatic feeder once the summer ants are gone), so she can have a steady supply of food. If you can afford it, I think it's a great splurge option for your cat if you want to mix it with other cans for the extra high-quality protein. I think that's what I will do: mix this with her normal cheaper (but not better lol) wet food so she can have a mix of high-quality and high-protein food.

I guess my cats are more into junk food.
My cats are used to eating national brands like friskies, so I think they were ill prepared to encounter whole peas and identifiable pieces of meat.I was hoping to move them to a more holistic feed like this, but they're not having it. (yet!)But the product looks great, it even smells good. For the record, my cats refuse to eat people food, too. So they just don't know what's good. ∧,,,∧( ̳• · • ̳) Meh/ づ 🥫

Excellent wet food, even for picky eaters
I've got 3 cats, one who'll eat anything he can fit in his mouth, and two who are a little more finicky. All three were circling my feet as soon as I opened a can, and their dishes were licked clean within a few minutes. The ingredient list and nutritional information are superb, although the cost reflects that. Still, after taking a previous cat to the emergency vet twice for urinary blockages, I'd much rather spend money on high-quality wet food. Side question - why do pets always seem to get sick on holidays or weekends? From my human view, the food itself looks like a real stew, with recognizable vegetables and bits of meat. There's not too much sauce, so I add a bit of warm water to encourage hydration.I do feed some good-quality dry food as well, to encourage grazing and to hide inside some dispenser toys, for activity. It seems to be working so far - all three cats get excellent yearly checkups.
