Solid feel, strong motor
This INKin cordless tattoo gun is nice quality. The fit and finish are perfect to my eye and hand, with no gaps, machining issues or other notable problems. The weight is solid, with a good heft in the hand, but the barrel is also a nice size that is less bulky than some other comparable models. The battery side unscrews and is light weight, self-contained, and depending on your other accessories, can be mixed and matched with other gun and tattoo parts. The barrel and motor is where all the weight is, meaning that this feels really great in the hand, with most of the weight distributed right into your fingers and palm rather than hanging behind at the end of the gun.The barrel twists with a solid, confirming click to set your stroke length. Possibly challenging to set after a gun is all wrapped up, but that's to be expected with almost every design these days. The battery and motor controller is great. One button to power up and you're met with a display showing your battery life and current selected voltage. A plus and minus key raise and lower the selected voltage as you'd expect. There are five memory banks, selected by clicking the "M" button. There is no action to save or store a voltage at a specific memory location, you set it and it stays. In practice, this means that you can have five preferred voltages set for each of the 5 memory banks. You turn the motor on by hitting the power button once and then you can keep hitting the M button to cycle through each selected voltage on the fly.Works great in practice and makes it super simple to cycle through preferred settings. The gun charges via USB C and there is a USB-C to USB-A charging cable and a single 1003RL needle in the pack to test things out.Overall, pretty nice and impressive!

This dog will hunt.
First off... Is this a top of the line, perfect machine? No. Does it work like it's supposed to? Absolutely. And works very well.I am not a fan of paying for a name, just because it's popular. I have several machines. Okay, I am a sort of collector. I have some top brands, sure. My coil machines are from Infinite, Borg, Eikon. My pens include Bishop, Cheyenne and Kwadron. Is this comparable to any of those? No. Of course not. But at pennies on the dollar for what any of those cost, pound for pound, this machine impressed me.It's surprisingly smooth, adequate power to line for hours with a 7 or 9, and shades as well. I don't see it lasting like a Kwadron, which is just an absolute beast of a workhorse. But you can get probably 7 of these for the same money. So my main problem with the machine is that the battery is proprietary and the only way to get a back up is to buy a second machine. However, at this price... Nearly not an issue. The whole thing cost less an Ambition Kuark. But still, I cannot just plug a Kuark or Critical power packs into it.For me, I probably won't use it much. I was mostly just curious how such an affordable machine would run. But it's light and battery powered, so in a pinch it might come on handy. I like it, actually.* As a side note... the cartridges were maybe some of the better ones I have ever seen come with a "beginner kit". Again... are they Kwadron or Envy's? No. But not complete trash either. I would tattoo with them (if I didn't have Kwadrons by the hundreds).

One of the better "beginner" kits. Nicely put together. Has all you need to get going.
This is a very nice kit for beginners, and it has everything you need to get started. Most kits are missing a few essential items, but this one seems to have gotten it right. The tattoo pen is very nice, and it's thick, with parallel sides, which is my personal preference. That makes it simple to get the grip even fatter (prevents hand and finger fatigue), simply by using folded paper towels and grip tape. This set already comes with a good roll of grip tape. The pen is very well made, and is reasonably smooth. It's got a nice matte finish, and grooves around the grip area (unnecessary, in my opinion. There is a built in battery pack (pretty sweet for a beginner setup), and a digital LED readout at the top. The readout is very bright and works using four buttons: "On/Off", "+", "-", and "M" (for mode). The pen has a working range of 5.0v-12.0v, though it's not the smoothest, nor the quietest pen. However, for what it costs, and for a "beginner", it's very adequate, and perfectly fine.Included with the kit are the following: 16 tattoo needle cartridges, of which 8 are liners, and 8 are shaders. These are very, very good cartridges. Also, a roll of camo themed grip tape, a single pair of black latex exam gloves, two disposable prep razors, a set of ink caps, 10 small bottles of practice ink (note: this is PRACTICE ink), a charging cable, a single sheet of tattoo design transfer paper, a single sheet of synthetic tattoo practice skin (so thin it's essentially worthless), a single dental bib (grey) to have a sterile work surface, and an outstanding case with lots of storage. For the price this is a great little kit. It's absolutely worth the asking price, and is very competitive with other kits, some much more pricey, out there.

This holds a charge much longer than hubby was expecting
This holds a charge much longer than hubby was expecting ! It’s also lightweight and easy to hold and maneuver around ! It works better than he expected it to which is great because we only decided to try it because of the dealOn Amazon and boy is he glad he did ! He’s actually been using this more than his old plug in one because of how easy it is ! ( unless it’s a big piece that he knows the battery won’t last for ! ) he’s been recommending it to his tattoo artist friends and has even let two of them use it to try it out and one has already ordered theirs ! ( the other is waiting for after Christmas to have the extra money to invest in one !)
