Better than other brands of similar types of security bulbs...
These are much better to buy then the cheaper made ones as they tend to be much more reliable. The best part about these ones over other brands is that when the power goes out these are MUCH brighter than any others I've used over the years. With ANY of these type of security bulbs the brightness is ALWAYS only a percentage as bright when the power goes out & they're in battery mode compared to when they're being used as a normal bulb during regular use. These will work perfectly in most lights. They are designed NOT to be used in lights that have brightness settings as if you try the bulb will never shut off. They are also designed not to be used in any light that has another feature with it like in a ceiling fan light. You may find that these won't work in some extremely cheap lights though they will work in most lights/lamps. Again, they will not work in a 3 way lamp just as it says in the instructions. One thing that is kinda nice is if there is a wiring issue in your light it can also cause the lamp to never shut off/go into battery mode every time you try to shut the light off, as I had 1 ceiling light that did this. I took it apart and it was a wiring issue which I would've never found otherwise unless the light failed which technically could've been dangerous! It worked properly again once I fixed the wiring issue. The little sockets that these come with, so you can use the bulb outside of a lamp, work better than I expected & are extremely handy! I live in Maine far from any real towns so we lose power alot during the winter months & even during any heavy storms due to our state having tons of trees everywhere. Branches break killing the power, during the winter months it can happen for weeks sometimes. While these only have power for the 1st few hours they are extremely handy to be able to have a few hours of light when there's no power. They're well worth the money. I bought the daylight version so while they're extremely bright during regular use it does make it so they're brighter than most when they go into battery mode as many other brands don't light up a room AT ALL! These are probably at about 1/2 to 3/4 of their original brightness when they go into battery mode, which is about 50× brighter than most other manufacturers of similar bulbs like these. Some other brands are about 1/4 as bright as even those old cheap battery operated touch lights, which is just horrible when you're trying to use them to see in the dark! For my ceiling lights that take multiple bulbs I replace 1 regular bulb per light with one of these so I have light all over my home when the power goes out. I do recommend that you only use these in lights that are regularly used as it keeps them properly charged as they do seem to lose power if they're not used regularly. I will try to test out more how long they last when not used regularly & if I discover any more I will update my review. I will definitely buy more of these in the future regardless as they work great!!! 👍

Work well, versatile deployment
These are a bit pricey for my scrooge personality, but they are cheaper than other options I looked at. They work very well, as they last several hours on a charge, and they produce a large amount of light--the brightness does diminish over time though, so you will not get the full brightness the entire time you're using them. That said, they worked for several hours while I had to work into the early morning to create a plug adapter from scratch for our generator, so they certqinly did the job. I really like that there are multiple ways to use them, as they can be used in your normal fixtures like you still had power, or they can be portable with the adapters they come with for lamp cords or as a stand-alone bulb. You can even yse them with just your hand/fingers closing the circuit if necessary--that isn't very practical, but it is nice that it at least is a last-ditch option. I also really like that they charge while in a standard fixture socket, so I don't have to charge them separately with any special cords or adapters; this means I don't have to hassle with pulling them out of storage when the power goes out whole hoping they're still charged, as I can just use them daily as a normal bulb and keep them topped off. To that end, I also appreciate that they look like a normal bulb (albeit a really big one), so they don't look out of place when in daily use. The only issue I had was a couple of our socket fixtures seemed to short the contacts on the bulb unless I got it in just the right position, which would cause it to stay on, but that seemed to be easily remedied for the most part. One other thing to note if you leave them in your fixtures for daily use is that you may see them flash back on momentarily when you shut off the switch. I don't think this is a defect of any kind, but rather possibly the way the charging circuit in the bulbs are reacting to them ibeing used and charged simultaneously and then power suddenly cutting out when I flip the switch (like an inductive feedback loop maybe?). Whatever it is, the bulbs still seem to function fine, so it's just something we've gotten used to, and it serves as a reminder that the bulbs aren't normal bulbs (so you remember you have them when you need them during a power outage).

these are extremely brite bulbs when plugged in and provide excellent light when the power is out.
we loose electricity on a regular basis in the rural area where I live. It seems every storm knocks our electricity out for a while. I bought two of these bulbs as backup lighting for those power outages. I pit them in my regular lamps, plugged them in and turned them on. They are a lot brighter than I expected when plugged into the wall. When the power went out, I simply pulled the plug from the wall and plugged it into the little square plugs that came with the bulbs. the lamps continued to work as if plugged into the wall. They were not quite as bright, but were perfect for serving the purpose I purchased them for. Plenty bright to see around the room and I could probably have read by the light had I wanted to.I can not speak to their longevity because I have only had them for a few weeks, but I do recommend them for easy emergency lighting if you have similarly unreliable electricity. They do the job quite nicely.
