OTONE 2.0 Afineo Multimedia Speaker

I'm a pro sound engineer with 35+ yrs experience in live audio, so my standards are exacting. The overall volume is not 16w rms, more like 4w rms, bass frequency distortion is an issue at high volume but above average for PC speakers and better than most big brands. I trimmed out all frequencies below 100 hz and expanded the gain at 125hz to compensate, this produced an acceptable SPL without distortion. One niggle is that volume and tone levels have to be reset when you switch on. The plastic boxes are well constructed with no discernible rattle or resonance, the 12v 2amp PSU however is slightly noisy due to a poor ground plane unfortunately so there is a 50hz hum when no signal is processing. 12V @ 2A only produces 24W of power so logically the speakers cannot be 2x 16W

Actually quite good quality for the price.I have had Otone products in the past and am always impressed with the sound quality considering the pricetag.This is a basic stereo speaker set with touch controls and a sleek look, nice to look at and use. They are connected to a small basic gaming system my son uses and they provide just the right level of sound for his needs.Weighty solid feel to them too.

Whilst I wouldn't want these speakers as the main ones in the lounge, they do an excellent job as PC speakers and, I must say, do look the part. They have a bit of weight about them which, in my humble opinion, adds to the sound quality. How many PC speakers are so light that you think they might float away and then, when you hear them, sound to thin and tinny you wonder why anyone would ever buy them? I can assure you these speakers do not fall into that category. I almost bought them in a local Currys' shop but decided to have a look on Amazon first and was glad I did, as they were £10 cheaper - the £10 is better in my pocket than Currys, as I'm sure you'll agree.

Good Speakers,impressed for the Sound and good deep bass for their size. Could be improved. O-Tone should develop a updated system with 2 way System. Could be slightly bigger as the current ones. More power would be nice maybe double it from Z X 15 Watts to 2X 30 Watts ? Thanks.

Bought for use with laptop to play music. Wish I had bought them years ago. Clear and loud enough for me.
