Works well and is very fun to use
You could probably get a couple years out of this, it's quite thick. The striker has plenty of surface, the whistle is loud, I just wouldn't rely on the compass

writing titles is the hardest part of a review
This is nice.1. One of these weighs 1.74 oz. It's listed as 4.16 oz for the product, so they are weighing both of them together. My scale goes down to a hundredth of a gram, so I guess they also weighed this with the packaging.2. A lighter weighs 0.59 oz, so this weighs more, but supposedly you can use this 16,000 times, but your lighter will run out of fluid. A lighter also costs a few bucks, so this should be cheaper in the long run.3. The smaller the head is of your stove (like a BRS 3000T), the harder it will be to light with this, unlike with a lighter, where you can put the flame right at the head. This thing is spraying sparks, so you'll have to get right above it and strike it a few times. But if you have a head the size of a Soto Windmaster, you shouldn't have any issues.4. It works better the more you use it. The scraper has a smooth side and a side with teeth. The teeth side is to help scrape off the magnesium to start a fire with leaves and whatnot. The smooth side makes sparks to start a fire with a fuel canister stove.5. The whistle is loud.6. The compass will show you what general direction north is, but you can't use it trying to find a landmark with a compass. But it should be able to get you back to the trail.Overall, it's a good product.

Works just fine.
I got the set that should glow in the dark. It doesn't glow very well at all. The para-cord glows more than the plastic handle. That said, it sparks really well and started my tinder in just a few good strikes. I think it is worth the price. Just don't expect it to glow well enough to see in the dark for more than 30 seconds after shining a light directly on it to charge the glow.

Works great
Works pretty good, started a fire in no time. Not so sure about the compass, but it might work if your in a pinch and need one.

Seems well made. Good value. Fire in 30 seconds when you get the hang of it.
Works as expected. The compass is tiny, but OK for basic survival purposes. Same for the whistle, better than nothing and if you're lost in the woods this may help you get found again (carries further than a shout and saves your energy). The glow in the dark whistle and lanyard is a good idea if you drop it in the dark (but must be charged in the light so not much good if you've kept it in a dark place). I can see this as quite useful, your fire making tool is not something you want to lose. The main thing of course is the magnesium fire starter and sparking tool. Easy to use, just shave off a small pile of magnesium with the included saw blade over your tinder and strike some sparks until it ignites. Simple. You get two units which is a good value.UPDATE, got a chance to really try it out. Using regular cotton wool from an aspirin bottle as tinder, feathered it out and with 5 minutes of practice I could light the tinder with a few strokes. Did not really need a lot of magnesium scrapings, just enough to lightly coat the tinder with scrapings ( more needed if damp conditions). There is a sawblade edge and a burred edge on the scraper. The burred edge gave me the quickest lights.

Awesome for Camping & Hiking, They Really Work Well
I got these for camping and love them! I've been using these for about 3 years now and have no substantial complaints. They really work and it is pretty easy to use to start a fire. Creates a lot of sparks, but takes a little practice at first to get it right! Especially if it is wet or cold out this will be harder to use. The instructions that come with this are honestly a bit confusing, but I watched some Youtube videos ahead of my trip to help with that. The compass and whistle work fine, whistle is loud and the compass does what it is supposed to!

The Magnesium Rod Stinks
The Magnesium rod isn't porous enough to get bigger shavings off of it. Not to mention when you are using their scraper/sparker to shave it off it creates sparks while in the process. I have made many fires in different outside conditions with similar products, and to be honest the Harbor Freight $1.00 version of this system works 1000 times better.

Difficult to use
The striker is not a good fit. They have sharp edges and are just way too small to be of any use. I have to wrap them in cloth to make them work a bit
