Great material for escrima sticks, though box was kinda gigantic
Exactly what I needed to make a great pair of escrima sticks. EDIT: I bought the 3/4" diameter, 60" rod, not sure why it's showing up as the 36" length 1" diameter rod.The rod arrived quite bowed in a way too large box (bowed almost 6 inches in the middle, mostly on a single plane), but it cut down fine and was able to be bent back into a mostly straight form without too much hassle. Only annoying thing was the stickers on the rod left some residue when I ripped them off.Polypropylene at this thickness (3/4") is quite flexible, and I think that's why it absorbs vibrations from heavy impact far better than other stiffer and denser synthetic materials I've used. Not sure I'd use it for a walking stick or cane at this thickness, but for smacking against other people's sticks in training situations, it works very nicely.EDIT 2: I bought a 7/8" diameter 60" stick to use as a staff. It arrived with more compact cardboard tube packaging, and it was much straighter than its thinner variant. Unfortunately, was a touch dirty and noticeably less polished all around, like it had been rolled around in dirt and against other abrasive objects, or just sanded down with really rough grit sandpaper.Still not great for leaning all your weight on it, as it still flexes a lot, but it's a great stick material for training; decently light, no chance of splinters, and it's held up to hard impacts even smashing pretty hard against the end of a real-wood stick. If you hold it at one end horizontally, it does naturally flex and bow down, and it wobbles a lot, but again, it's great at absorbing impacts with that kind of flex.

Perhaps use to "clean" freshly sharpened knife edges
I tried using this, instead of say a block of wood or the edge of a poly cutting board for "cleaning" the edge of a freshly sharpened knife. The idea was that cutting into a smooth cylinder would be gentler on the edge. I got mixed results, but I think I like this a lot better than using a block of wood to clean an edge!

great for organizing
I made a dish organizer out of pvc sheeting and wanted something other then wood for the dowels and these worked perfect

Added to 5/8 inch curtain rod to extend 3”
I ordered a 86” curtain rod but didn’t realize with the brackets it would not be long enough. It was about 3” short. I ordered this to fill in the gap of a 5/8 inch curtain rod and it worked perfectly.

For your information
These rods are actually true to size. Only the size is 13 millimeters not 1/2 inch.

Good product, slow to send out.
Though it took an inordinate amount of time to receive the product in separate packages days apart, the product was as expected.

Not very accurate diameter.
While the posting says "standard tolerance" - but on a 1/2" rod, that translates to a diameter of 0.5185". For a 3/4" rod, that actually means 0.776" Though length was not that important to me, I noticed the 1/2" rod was 3/32" shy of the advertised 12". Unfortunately, the oversized diameter does not work in my application. Thankfully Amazon makes it easy to solve the problem with simple returns!
