These heel protectors have made a remarkable difference for my partner, who spends long hours on her feet at work. She is petite in stature and feels more confident wearing high heels. Unfortunately, I have recently been suffering from Retro Calcaneal Bursitis – an inflammation & swelling of the bursa (lubricating fluid sac) around the insertion of the base of my Achilles tendon on the heel of my right foot. Apparently the cause of the bursitis was tightness or rubbing of the heel of my shoe on the left side of the heel of my foot. Therefore, my hope was that wearing one of these heel protectors on that heel would alleviate the problem, allow the swelling to subside & allow me to put that heel on the ground without pain, so that I could again walk without a severe limp.Of course, shoes which normally fit me are tighter with a swollen heel. Wearing a tick heel protector in those shoes, even if it were soft silicone gel, would simply make matters even worse. Therefore, I needed to buy some cheap bigger-sized shoes in order to fit these Yoolly Silicone Heel Protectors in without causing yet more pressure on my swollen heel. That has been moderately successful & the swelling appears to be reducing.The price, £3.32, of 2 pairs of these Yoolly Silicone Heel Protectors is very low, so I have no doubt that they provide good value-for-money (so long as I do not consider the further cost of bigger shoes to accommodate them.
