I have tried to get into crocheting so many times, but struggled to follow photos of types of stitches, and couldn’t follow along even in kits designed for beginners. This kit changed EVERYTHING. Within two days, I’d made 2 little axolotl friends (they’re more distant cousins than twins, but I love them). I’ve been in hospital for a long time, and really wanted to find a good distraction and have something to show for my time. This kit is the reason I can now crochet. After I’d made one of the axolotls I immediately bought several other crochet kits, and was only able to complete those because of this one. It’s by far the best little kit of all I’ve bought lately.Presentation: it arrives in a compact little box with absolutely everything you need. There are 2 different designs of eyes (so 4 pairs of eyes in total) and a lot of wool left over, so you could probably make another 2 friends. Of all the kits I’ve bought, it had the nicest packaging I’d say, and is one of the most compact. A perfect gift.Instructions: the instructions are what really set this kit apart and make it so easy for a true beginner or novice (there’s a big difference between a beginner, and a novice). There are written instructions, but there are QR codes to scan. One of them had expired, but the rest all worked. They take you to a single web page that has text and a video for every single step of making the creature, from beginning to end. The pacing is perfect, and the woman does every stitch with you until you’re almost at the end. The camera angle is from above, so it gives you a first person view of what to do and you just do the exact same thing with your hands. The ability to pause and replay and rewind is great, but the pacing of the videos and the speed of her talking was just right for me. She was very clear and easy to follow, and my little creature ended up looking exactly like the one on the box! I was amazed. I’d failed to even make a straight line of stitches before, and by the end even understood the abbreviations for each stitch and the differences between them. It gives you a couple of ways to do some things, including holding the yarn as you crochet (yes, it even helps you work out how to hold the yarn to make it easier and maintain tension through to). The most comprehensive of any video instructions I’ve found. Other kits just didn’t compare. Those with just photo instructions were harder to follow, but luckily I knew the stitches from completing this kit, and was able to apply the knowledge I’d gained. Some instructions in other sets were incomplete or assumed a level of skill. This kit really is truly accessible for any level of ability - from those who just read the pattern or those who need to learn from scratch. It’s a fabulous starting point.Quality: the quality is worth the price point. There is an awful lot packed into a small and well designed box. The yarn is thick, which I have learned from my experiences with other kits makes it much easier to work with, especially as a beginner. Unlike other kits, the yarn held together instead of unraveling, and it didn’t knot on itself either. The pigments were rich and there was more than enough of Eve to thing. It even includes vacuum packed stuffing.End result: what I made looked exactly like on the box! I felt so accomplished and I ended up creating two little friends for my hospital room. All the nurses love them and couldn’t believe that until this kit I couldn’t crochet. I made the second one without watching the videos, and was in pain so lost count and made that one a bit taller and skinnier, but I love it!This is by far the best of all the kits (7 others) that I’ve bought. Whilst most kits have everything you need, I found this kit had the best and easiest to follow instructions, and the best videos to learn each step from. The bow was more compact than some others, and some kits didn’t have a box at all but came wrapped in cellophane and would look less lovely as a gift. The yarn felt high quality compared to some kits and the instructions online were very detailed. Absolutely worth the slightly higher price point. Great if you’ve always wanted to learn but struggled with previous attempts, and a really lovely gift. I was amazed that I’d managed to make something that seemed so impressive and difficult before I started. The skills I learned in this kit were in some cases the only reason I could complete other kits that claimed to also be suitable for beginners but had poor instructions. I’ve just bought another kit from the same brand, to make a bumble bee, a duck, and a dinosaur.

This was my first ever crochet project? The instructions and the videos were so good and easy to follow, anyone can do this. I am so happy with the results. On top of that the seller was truly amazing - there were some parts missing and she sent them to me so I was able to finish. Communication was swift amd very friendly, extremely helpful. This is a great gift, value for money and yarn quality is good. See my pictures, I am so excited to gift this as it looks amazing and neat.

Really enjoyable kit. Materials are easy to use (although the eyes are a little tough to get in). Lots of spare yarn as well.Better to follow the videos, as the written instructions did skip some steps. Written instructions also include mention of making a carrot for the rabbit, for which no green yarn was provided.Enjoyable project.

Got this for my daughter and what a lovely and cute project.. easy to follow instructions in video tutorial.. beautiful appealing colour yarn and quality is thick and nice.. very good product for beginners and gift to girls.

Bought this for my daughter as she is a first-time crocheter. This set was an accompaniment to her other sets and presented as a gift bundle. She loved making them with the video instructions !

I purchased this crochet kit for my son who is very enthusiastic about learning crochet. The items look nice and well packaged, except that, despite other customers saying they have received printed instructions, ours came with no instructions at all, making this gift useless as I also don’t do crochet and can’t help my son. I truly recommend not purchasing this and will return mine. I spent hours in the internet trying to find instructions, but they are not available, and the ones available from other brands are only accessed by using a QR code provided when you purchase the product.

Very good for beginners! Although when the circle starts becoming more round, the way she holds it is by being able to see the inside of it, some point after a stage the way changes and you are no longer able to see the centre but the outside body and couldn't fix it so I'd have it the way she did. This will affected the decrease method, since instead of going through the front V I had to do it via the back V. I also lost count and was unable to fix it so the numbers were not the same. It still came up nicely.
