Hometown Folks
I thought this book was very well done, though not very comprehensive in scope. Had photographs been requested from a wider audience of older African-Americans in Rutherford County, the book would have appealed to a wider audience. But -- I am quite proud of the publication and several members of my family appear therein.

Excellent
The pictures are priceless. Thanks for taking the time to publish this book. For those searching for their past, this book is a treasure.

A piece of American history
Ms. Butler gives us an in-depth look at the history of Rutherford County, Tennessee. Memories and photographs from decades past bring the subjects to life. I also grew up in Rutherford County, and looking at these personal photographs and seeing a part of life that I have never seen before has given me a greater appreciation for the people I not only know (Mrs. Overton, my high school Algebra teacher; Tammy Williams, a friend; Mr. Dunn, my high school Chemistry teacher; to name a few) but of the community leaders whose names I recognize and respect for their contributions and influence in Rutherford County and beyond.
