I mix the water crystals with substrate for hanging plant baskets. They work well in retaining moisture, especially when using a wire basket with coir liner. I like them better than the water beads or diaper method because of reduced mess and aesthetics. Water beads tend to work thier way to the top of the planting medium. A scoop is included. Make sure you tighten the cap well and store in a dry place. The jar holds a generous amount. You don’t need more than a teaspoon for an 8” planter. Easy to use, no odor, and I can tell that the crystal are working because the substrate stays hydrated longer. Useful for indoor potted plants as well.

Definitely works better than other brands tried.Even in direct sun. It kept bottom of pot moist.

Bought these water crystals to feed my feeders so they won't drown. I use them for my Dubia roaches and it works great. Last a while too.

The crystals do absorb a lot of water. However, they are too fine for my purpose. I would have preferred a courser, larger crystal. Should have bought the Miracle Gro crystals which I have used successfully in the past.

These are not at all like water absorbing crystals I've used before. This is fine, fine power. The larger crystals break down over time. I doubt these will last for this summer. I am not happy.

I search water crystals for reptiles and insects. This is a powdery type substance that swells. And becomes a clump when introduced what to water. Great for plants, but not what I searched up. The listing is Misrepresenting.Other than that, I've had fun using it for plants. I'll keep looking for what I was actually searching. Still haven't found crystals four insects in reptiles.
