...grr, argh, woargh...
Blimey! It's album number seven for the veteran Swedish death metallers, with nary a hint of progression to sully their blackened hearts. And that will make a lot of death metal fans very happy indeed, for Deranged don't mess about with any of that pesky musical progression nonsense. No. It's 35 minutes of brutal death metal, thank you very much, no refunds, no exchanges. It's an intense punch in the face from start to finish, from the opening, driving riffs of 'Watch Me When I Kill', all the way through to 'Body Puzzle'. To be fair, there is one surprise in the goody bag, and that's halfway through when 'The Killer Wore Black Gloves' seeps out of the speakers, with a fair dose of steoner / Down type rhythms and attitudes. Not one for the die-hards, but a cracking tune, nonetheless. The drums blast, the riffs rock and the vocals are grunts from Hell, just the way it should be. There were a few naysayers popping up when "Obscenities In B Flat" came out, but this one should restore Deranged in the affections of many.
