New Battery Replacement for PQ/94WIF K Paperwhite 4 2018 K Paperwhite 10th Gen K Paperwhite 4 10th Gen PN 58/000271 58/000246 MC/266767 ST22 PQ94WIF with Tools (3.8V 5.7Wh/1500mAh)

I decided to replace the battery in my kindle paperwhite when it would no longer last a single day on a charge. The new battery is now providing days of active use between charges. Replacement was not too difficult. The tools provided were not really helpful and bent/broke during use. I used the small flat-bladed screwdriver as a pry to start separating the back panel from the reader. I then used stiff guitar picks to work around the edges, holding the pieces apart as I worked around the frame. The battery had strong adhesion to the reader. I used a letter opener to pry it up. It bent, but did not break open. The new battery fit perfectly and reassembly was straightforward.

Great product if you don’t want instructions or customer service

I have had my Kindle Paperwhite 10th Generation since 2021. I do a lot of reading and enjoy taking my Kindle with me when I go places that I know I will have to wait. My battery had started going down a lot faster making me have to charge it every couple of days. I ordered this DGFTB New Battery Replacement and got it pretty quickly. It did not have any instructions with it, but I found a YouTube video online on how to change out the battery and did it myself. It worked beautifully and my Kindle now does not have to be charged every couple of days. I fully charged it right after installing it, as the YouTube video said to do. So far it has held the charge for the past week. i am fully satisfied with my purchase.

"If I knew then what I know now," - I would have spent the extra $60 and bought a new Kindle and saved the trouble. The cheap plastic tools included with the battery quickly deformed or broke trying to get the two halves apart. The four sides have numerous tabs in slots that are very difficult to separate. Once inside, it was another struggle to pry loose the old battery with its adhesive, and the plug was glued in, also. The only tool that would make a dent in the job was a large putty knife. I know, I know. Not the safest tool for the job. If you like a challenge, this is your chance. I gave it two stars because the replacement works fine.

I can't super recommend this, not because of the product, which works as advertised, but because the process is NOT easy. First, the plastic tools suck, and if you're not kind of quick and forceful with it, they eventually deform too much to be of any use, and then you'll be out of luck. It almost ended for me there. But also, what they don't tell you is the existing battery is kind of flimsy and glued down HARD. I've seen enough videos of the spicy danger pillows blowing up in peoples' faces that I was sweating bullets as I used a plastic spatula to pry it up. It deformed a lot and part of its foil wrapping peeled off because it was too stuck to the adhesive. I survived to tell the tale but next time...I think I'll use a professional.

Order eventually showed up after being reported lost. A small tool kit was included, as advertised, but no instructions. After trying with the help of YouTube videos, none of which matched the inside of my reader (there are a lot of different designs)

I bought this to put over pre-printed magnets, you know like the business card type or even little round ones, to turn them into dry erase appointment markers for my magnetic calendar. Each sheets even has markings on the peel-off back to help measure and cut straight. And they adhere strongly! If I need more I'm definitely buying these again.

This battery performed even worse than the original which was 2 years old. The original was still going about 3 days on a charge. This one is only lasting 2 days, and it is 3 weeks old.
