PaJaMo experiment -- Wow! What a story!
Reviewer: 67-year-old retired physician. Exhaustive library. The entire book is great but I was blown away by that which dealt with the PaJaMo Experiment. Audience: for high school seniors on their way to college to major in life sciences; and as a book to be read leisurely by retirees headed to the coast for the summer.

Good read for anyone interested in science!
I read a lot of books about science and although I had heard about a lot of the concepts that were highlighted in this book, I had not heard a lot of the stories or background that relates to some of those topics. I especially haven't viewed things through an embryological lens, but this book highlights why that is important to do. The author also does a good job of finding and including historical tidbits about different scientists such as Gregor Mendel, Thomas Morgan of the fruit fly linked genes discovery and many others! Somehow, the anecdotes and stories were mostly new to me so it made for an interesting read. This book is VERY accessible and anyone who is curious is able to follow along as the style is easy to read and understand. Overall a fun book with a lot of interesting information!

Couldn't put it down
As a physician I thought I knew most of the subject matter......I WAS WRONG. I've never had this presented in such an interesting way. One of the best writers that ever lived......I maintain an entire library of non-fiction books which I've read over the last 45 years. THIS BOOK STANDS OUT...(I wish I could write that in LARGER LETTERS). Out of my 500 books, this is top 5. I'd like to tell the author personally ....that I think he's a genius.....buy this book if you're curious about who we are and how we arrived here

Fascinating book about life formed from a single cell!
The book delves into the mystery behind the fact that a single cell transforms itself into an entire organism with so many different and distinct parts that have distinct functions! How does this possibly happen? And, what is the relationship of embryonic development and cancer? A fascinating read that left me hungry for a deeper understanding!
