I love this blanket so much I may name it.
first night with weighted blanket review. I have to admit I am in love with this blanket. When first getting into bed and pulling up this heavy thing I was concerned that I would not be able to lift it up if I needed to get up in the middle of the night to pee. Fearing I would need to awaken Hubbins to free me from my self induced prison. You have to remember I’m only concerned because I am only able to use one arm at this time and blanket it quite heavy to lift with one arm. After getting settled in I realized I was quite comfortable and actually felt very nice to feel tucked in so to speak. It was like I was being snuggled by blanket. I do have to admit that I didn’t completely think through putting it on the bed as we just put it on top of the blankets that were already there. This was a mistake, because it gets way too hot and the need to flee the fiery inferno hit sometime around 3am and I was right, I couldn’t get out. I ended up kicking my way out so my feet were on top of the blankets so I could cool down. I need to remove the comforter from my side of the bed and only use the weighted blanket, my sheet, and quilt. Yes I know I like a lot of blankets get over it. But at least I know now when to quit and remove as necessary. 😂 Hubbins was thankful I didn’t wake him to rescue me from the fires of Mordor.I will have another review tomorrow after I’ve removed the comforter and have a better idea of the heat produced with this blanket under normal person blanket standards.I wouldn’t say I fell asleep within seven minutes like some people say but I do believe I fell asleep quicker than I normally do. I was busy thinking more about how comfortable I was, rather than freaking out and going through my thousand page to do list. As far as this morning goes I’m back to my thousand page to do list running through my brain making me crazy. Maybe I should bring blanket out into the living room with me and see if I can be comforted there as well. 🤣 Nah, I fear if I go to that extreme I will need to give blanket a name. 😆 For now I will just say I am pleasantly surprised with my successful first night with Blankie. Oh and dude, it is super duper soft.

ALMOST perfect, with some issues
This blanket is ALMOST perfect.PROS: The minky duvet cover is AMAZING! It is so soft, I find myself just running my hands over it again and again. It is fabulous. The weight of the blanket is also great. Very soothing for those of us who like heavy blankets.CONS: I got the smaller of the two sizes because I thought the larger size would be too big, and make the blanket fall off my bed. Although the smaller blanket is the size of the top of a twin bed, I find it to be too small to cover me at night. And I'm only 5'3". Also, the ties in the corners of the blanket that adhere the weighted blanket to the minky duvet cover are a joke. Sure, the blanket stays in those corners, but the rest of the blanket sinks to the middle of the duvet cover, due to its weight, basically meaning that most of the weight stays around my stomach area, and the rest of my body is covered only by duvet cover. That said, the pros outweigh the cons in that I plan to sew extra ties to the blanket this weekend, to keep the weighted blanket better dispersed throughout the duvet cover. And I'm buying the bugger blanket. I'll just use this one for lounging.Great concept. They NEARLY nailed the production, but it could stand with some improvements. They should make a middle size and address the fact that the blanket doesn't fill out the cover well.

Great until it wasn't
I was so excited when the blanket arrived. I went immediately to my room lugging my blanket in both arms... all 20lbs of it. I took it out of the packaging and put it on my bed. It was smaller than I anticipated but that was okay because it was for me and not the bed. I slept with it the first night and woke up sweating. My air conditioner was set at 70°F and threw it off me. Later in the night I rotated the longest part to go the opposite direction which allowed my feet to peek out and shoulders uncovered. I woke up feeling like a champ. Little to no flip flopping in bed. Night 2 was better... no aches from my knees and ankle. Night three.... it all changed. The weighted part inside glass beads shifted and each stitched square no longer had weight to it. Some had a few and a majority of it shifted to the bottom or side squares. I no longer had even weight distribution in the blanket. I opened the zipper to see how to get them back in place but it was a lost cause. I am not giving it the poorest review...as the zipper is strong and durable. The mink fleece is warm, cozy and feels amazing... even if I get too hot... I do live in Hawaii so this isnt exactly ideal material. I plan to still use it for a few more days until I can see if there is some way to fix it or I may just end up returning it.

Not natural fiber
The blanket is well made and attractive. It is what I expected with one exception...the inner portion is not (all) cotton. I recently upgraded my bedding to all natural fibers as I have reached that certain age where I sleep hot. The Amazon description states that the inner blanket is "100% cotton fabric, breathable and more natural" and so I bought this blanket vs. others and figured I'd just leave off the synthetic outer cover. Well, the tag on the inner blanket specifically states that the cotton shell is filled with not only the plastic pellets, but also poly fill. So disappointed with that and it is just too heavy and expensive to return. So, while it's a lovely blanket, it isn't quite as advertised nor as I wanted it to be.Also, the listing states that it is prime eligible, but my blanket took 6 days to arrive. When it arrived, the blanket was inside a box which was well taped all the way around. This box was placed inside an outer shipping box not suitable for such heavy contents. Take care when opening the inner box as there is no padding between the cardboard/tape and the blanket itself. If using a sharp blade to cut through the tape, one could easily slice the blanket as well.

20 lbs is A LOT heavier than you think at first. It's nice - but it's harder than you might think to move it to cover yourself.
I think I'm sleeping way better with this - but the inner heavy part moves around a fair amount inside the outer cover. There ARE 6 loops on the inner heavy layer that you can attach to the inside of the outer layer - but the outer layer has two long pieces of flat cord (at each of 6 locations) that I suppose I can tie to the loops on the inner heavy piece - but it would be way nicer if the maker had put snaps of some sort to attach the inner and outer. I guess if I can tie a bow knot in the long pieces on the inside of the outer cover - the type of knot you tie your shoes with - then I'll be able to untie them when it comes time to wash the inner and outer - but - at this point - I just put the outer cover in a drawer - and I'm not using it. The inner heavy blanket has a nice soft feel to it - and it's fine using it by itself - but I just know that I will have to replace it way sooner without the outer cover because the cats and dogs will shred it and it will get WAY dirtier way faster than if protected by the outer cover. And the inner heavy part will be great trouble to wash. All that being said - this weighted blanket really helps with better sleep.

Great product ruined by poor QC
Got this blanket for my girlfriend for Christmas. Looks great, works as advertised and provides a nice comforting weight. She loved it!Now... It would be great if I could end the review there, but unfortunately this product is marred by poor QC issues. I've read this is the case with many of these weighted blankets, but I didn't expect to spot problems out of the box -- especially when the products cost what they do.Essentially all the weighted blankets on the market appear to have the same design: weighted poly/glass beads partitioned by a stitched grid going through the blanket. Seeing as though the key component keeping the weight distributed properly through the blanket is the stitch, I was disappointed to see that the grid stitching was: a) single stitched, b) already unraveling at the ends, and c) sloppy.I can't exactly recommend this product based on what I've seen of the product quality for its price, but unfortunately for the consumers this is one of the highest rated and most reviewed weighted blankets that I've found on this site. Buyer beware; this is not an isolated incident. Weighted Idea.... You had one job. Figure it out. Stitch properly and QC your damn products.

Good weighted blanket, but needs to be replaced every 1–2 years. Stitching comes undone.
I've used this blanket everyday for the past 1.5 years. It's effective in helping me sleep like any weighted blanket does. The problem with this blanket is that it's great at the beginning, but the stitching DEFINITELY comes undone around the 1 year mark. This means the beads are no longer confined to that little patch they're meant to be. The weight distribution becomes extremely uneven. So it's a decent blanket if it's on sale. If it's not, I would recommend looking elsewhere for something with a bit more longevity. But this blanket is okay AS LONG as you're prepared to buy a new one every 1–2 years or so. Some people may be. But I'm reviewing this now after having used it for a while and I simply can't recommend it. A lot of these positive reviews are coming from people who JUST bought the product. But my review is coming from someone who has used it extensively for a prolonged period. With that in mind, I would take a hard pass. There are lots of weighted blankets out there with far superior production quality. Do your research.

Weight not evenly distributed
The cover is soft and comfortable. I like the blanket initially, then I discovered problems with it. The weight of the blanket is great, but the weight is not evenly distributed, there are a few sections of the blanket that have little to no beads in them, leaving the middle of the blanket especially light and the it does not give the true effect of being weighted. I feel like it is a cheaply made blanket, I wish I would have purchased a different more well made version.Edited: After posting this review, I was contacted by the seller to change the number of stars, in return for $10...be aware that this seller is basically buying 5 star reviews.

I feel so safe & warm!
I'm an adult with Asperger's syndrome (I'm posting the review from my Fiance's account because he ordered it), & I really love my new blanket! The cover is grey & very soft. The inner blanket weight can shift around a bit, but it's really comfortable to use! It has a really good weight to it, & if you need more or less, you can double it up, or let the filling shift aside. I feel really warm, safe, & compressed when I have it on. I don't even move around as much, & I fall asleep a LOT easier too! It's very calming to have on. So I absolutely recommend it for other adults who have AS! I'm 5'6, & it completely covers me, so don't worry about it being too small! - Caitlyn
