Useless wasp nest treatment.
I used it to try and rid our loft of a wasp nest. The first one arrived and the use by date had expired so that one had to be returned and another ordered. I am unsure if a credit has been sent to my card. The second was used and it sputtered for about 3 seconds and went out , some smoke was seen but not enough to do any good. I tried to relight the wax and it did not ignite , I inserted a match as a wick which did not ignite it either. This product was a total failure from ordering to using. Another product has been ordered, used and the wasps are no more. We have a decoy nest In place to prevent return this year or next. Please reimburse my card with any charges taken on the two purchases if the first one has not been credited.

Did the job, but not cheap.
Easy to use product, but not good value for money.

These do work-but seem a bit like a damp squid - have faith!
I have used these three times now, my first attempts at ridding my loft of many hundreds of flies were initially with the usual sprays but I have a cavernous loft and apart from taking a lot of cans the results were short term. I then for a couple of years tried the Dead-fast 'Sulpher' candle (tin) but these do leave a very strong sulpher smell which lingers and they do take several attempts to light - they frequently go out so you have to scramble into the loft a few times to check, and they are not that good. BUT this version is, it does work. However it can have the same problem as the sulpher one and extinguish itself, there is a small red plastic insert through which the paper coil is threaded and it sometimes extinguishes at this point (a restriction). I have always bought in two's and on my first purchase this happened to the first one I lit, I thought it was a rip off especially as when I lit the second one it seemed to be over in seconds. In fact when I removed the remnants from the plastic pot one had burned all the way and the other just to the red insert. I now do something the manufacturers would not recommend and I remove the unburned part, lay it on a metal tray and (not leaning over it) light it with a turbo cigarette lighter and escape quickly! This problem does need looking at by the makers it is not good and gets the product a bad name but two of these properlyignited in my loft leave nothing alive and more impressively the effect lasts for a good six months or more.

Tin size rather deceiving
The product itself is fine and it smokes well. It's the size of the tin that makes you believe you have more bang for your buck, when really it's just a tin to hold the smoke bomb in for safety. It's my own fault, I should have read the details and weight properly. It's no bigger than the ones Ive been buying elsewhere and standing on an old baking tray.

Effective, its raining dead (and dieing) wasps
Yesterday had set it up in the attic; about a week ago noticed some Common Wasps are going in and out the gap between the rafter cover and the wall. Haven't looked for their nest yet, as I am hoping this will finish the job and I can just go up when its colder and remove their nest so they won't come back if any survived. 24 hrs later observed significantly reduced air traffic and the body count on the ground outside is about 70 and going up. Bought a couple in case I need to reapply, but very happy at the moment.

My first one did not function,I was kindly sent a replacement .
I followed the instructions and yes initially it did ignite shortly after it went out and cannot it appears be lit again.I would have just as well-set fire to a ten-pound note, it would have produced more smoke and wasted the same amount economically.Perhaps I had a faulty unit? It’s possible, I am certain what happened to me cannot be standard as this product would have stopped being used many years ago.As an update I have been kindly sent a replacement from the seller this indicates the first one I received was faulty.

Worked brilliantly in a house with a gusty loft!!
Amazing stuff. My loft is not sealed to the outside world in any way, but this little tin killed everything up there including a wasps nest. It’s a pretty big space and we didn’t know for definitely where the nest was but it’s stopped not just the wasps, but everything creepy crawly that was up there!! 100% effective, would recommend for anyone with any type of bug problem.Word to the wise, light the wick and get out quick!!
