Zopsc 6 X Battery Case for Baofeng UV-5R, UV-5RE, UV-5RA, Extended Battery Box, Walkie Talkie Battery Case, Easy to Use.

Before I realized what was going on, this battery case broke the locking tab off on 2 of my UV-5R's. I found the little plastic tabs on my floor not realizing what they were, until I noticed the battery on my radio not fitting snug anymore. A closer inspection revealed that on 2 of my radios, one of the small tabs that hold the battery in place on the bottom of the UV-5R had broken off. It's because of this cheap AA battery holder, when pushed onto the radio it torqued the little connectors on the radio in a way that shouldn't happen. I'm not impressed.

This is a great little battery pack. However, it did take a little TLC. First, it wasn't labeled if it needed a dummy battery like most of the others if using non-rechargeables. So, I assumed it would, put one in with 5 AA, and tried. Didn't work. So, I tried with all 6 as actual batteries. That's not the minor issue. I actually liked that aspect. The issue is that it didn't work when I put all standard AAs in. Sure enough, there was an issue with two of the connectors. One of them was too far in and didn't touch the positive end of its associated battery. I had to bend it outward slightly. Still didn't work, but the two batteries in the middle row kept springing outward as if they were under too much pressure. I pushed the tab in slightly for that row.Poof. Turned on like a charm. My Baofeng seems to be receiving just as it normally would. I don't transmit. So, I don't know if it affects that. I just like to listen. I used it for a bit, and there were no problems whatsoever that gave me reason for concern. So, if something crazy happens, I'll edit my review.So far, this is making a good little backup to the lithium battery and doesn't require a charger. I do like that it extends the size of the Baofeng when I'm using this battery case. So, that's another plus. Some might be put off by the potential need for a little DIY work out of the box, but from what I've seen of similar products, that is basically always an issue, and other packs have other issues that I'm not experiencing with this one (clips working poorly, requiring a dummy battery, etc).

The clip that holds the “battery” half's together is very weak and regularly opens up while in use. I have use electrical tape to hold it together.
