Single to Double Socket Converter 1G - 2Way White Plate - GVC

I only bought this convertor because I have a single socket wanting to change to a double one.The problem I had the two screws are at top and bottom to keep the socket in place rather at the side where they normally are.So I unscrew the metal place on the converter 90° and presto it work.Be aware if you are use this product you might want to get a double socket connect in the middle rather at the side as some of double socket do.

Yes you can have the sockets you want with this replacement. It is a replacement and therefore completely legal to be fitted by non-qualified persons. The only skills required are the ability to switch off electricity at the mains, use a screwdriver and follow simple instructions accurately. The end result is something elegant that replaces multi-adapters. Even a child could fit it; I'd want her to be a teenager though.

I bought this to replace a single socket which was recessed into the wall. The back box of the item works well but I found that the faceplate gripped plugs too tightly and the first time I used it I nearly pulled it off the wall. Luckily I had an old faceplate from a no longer used outlet and used that.I consider the product reasonable value as the backplate did what it was supposed to do and that was what I needed most.

This is the most wonderful device in possibly the entire universe. It has transformed my life. This wonderful device could cure all known diseases and add peace to this troubled world. These convertor socket back box are a very easy & convenient way to increase your power outlets.I have used them many times in the past, when they were made by well known brand manufacturers. The boxes were slim & robustly made & they matched the double socket exactly.However, the more recent offerings are not, so robust, slim, or match the socket face in colour or shape, though they are cheaper!!I can hear you readers saying, It's your own fault; "you only get what you pay for". Which is true of course, but they were the only ones I could find, since all the usual stockists just don't anymore!I received 3 units & one box was broken, which was quickly replaced by the seller.In summary they work ok, though tight when inserting or removing plugs. I would recommend not to over-tighten any screws, as the metal frame will bend into the host recessed socket box unless it is flush to the wall, & you don't often see that.If you do decide to double your socket, please remember to isolate the 230acv. before commencing any work on the circuit.

Great for fitting a double gang 13amp socket front !!Not suitable for a double gang socket with built-in USB ports.The plastic around the double-gang fixing holes means the USB type socket will not fit.

These boxes are great value for money, replaced a number of single sockets with these in our bedrooms saved chasing the wall etc just unscrewed the socket released the wires put the box on using the original recessed back box and supplied screws, reconnected the wires to the new socket and secured it to the back box. Nice tidy job extra sockets and no mess.

Fitted this to convert a single to a double. Work ok but the socket I chose was not the same make and it overlapped slightly. Probably wont be noticed but wouldn't use it again.
