Was on big job and all the laundry / washer supply boxes on site were PEX Expansion Ring Clamp but rest of job was crimp and pinch clamp. This worked flawlessly and didn't have to shell out $$$$$ for power tool !! REMEMBER to ROTATE in between expansion pumps !

I rated this with 4 stars because I believe it is a good product for the right price when considering the alternatives. Unfortunately I had to return it because at 67 years old, I do not have the strength to operate it. I was successful at doing a trial fit on the bench where I was able to support one handle against the bench and use my weight to operate it. But the real task was to be performed on the ceiling where I would have to compress with both hands. So bottom line, 10 years ago this would have been great for me and would save me $500 for a cordless version. So its well made and the right product for the right person.

Unless you are a professional power lifter don’t get this. The handles are short and it is virtually impossible to expand 1” PEC A pipe. I used it twice and couldn’t do the third connection.

This product was the cheapest expander i could find, so i was not expecting to be happy with it and just hoping it would do the job. It does the job perfectly and is easy to use, you have to work it pretty hard but that is the case with any manual expander. 10/10 i would buy this again if needed.

Was lucky enough to get this on sale. Cheaper to buy this than rent (minimum cost+driving+time). Had to do a couple of 1/2” expansions for a sink install. Tool itself was a little janky, but did the job easy enough. Got the fittings on within seconds. I have a couple of future projects planned that will require 1” expansions, skeptical how it will perform then. In any case, why spend more for a tool you will rarely use but will need if you DIY.

It’s an expansion unit it expands the collar and the pipe on out side and you have about a minute or two before it collapses back again so it’s very versatile and it works very good. I’m going to upgrade or abandon the galvanized pipe in my home and this unit should work fine I’m a retired steamfitter so I know quite a bit about her enough about piping to get through with us. I used it to re-pipe my 1960 airstream and very tight porters and it worked very well. No complaints.

Works awesome for pex

Easy to use and it does the job

This kit includes everything you need to install Pex-a expansion joint piping. I used this kit to create hundreds of joints successfully. The expansion tool and the adapters appear to be quite robust. The pipe cutters had the spring break off within the first few uses but all in all I don't have regrets buying this and would recommend for someone at a DIY / hobby level who needs to install pex-a pipe. Worth noting, and this is not specific to this product, it does take some arm/chest strength to be able to expand the pipe - especially the 1"!

Ideal for DIY projects, more cost-effective than renting.

Even after manually rotating the pipe and ring, all of the joints leaked. You can actually see where the tool has compromised the pipe. A complete waste of time, materials and money. Don't buy this product.
