This is a phenomenal knife. It's a beast. Shaving sharp right out of the box, and retains its edge under heavy use. Despite having such a thick spine it handles the smaller tasks like making notches and feather sticking extremely well. It chops okay, but batons like a champ. I've used the heck out of this thing, and I can't put it down. I'm not a one knife in the kit kinda guy, but if I could only take one, this would be it.

Great looking and highly practical knife!
The pictures don't do this knife justice. Its a thick, heavy and very solid knife. Although the lack of coating on the top of the blade may cause the blade to rust, it is aesthetically pleasing nonetheless. I recommending coating it with marine tuf glide, which will keep it from rusting and not affect the blade's look. The handle is very comfortable. I'm keeping mine as my survival knife of choice for its quality and impressive heft.

Fantastic High Quality Knife
The TOPS Mountain Lion is an excellent knife. It fits into a Spec-Ops Brand Combat Master short sheath perfectly. I highly recommend the Mountain Lion to anyone looking for a camping, hunting, or survival knife. Buying a Tuf-Cloth or Frog Lube cloth for blade maintenance would be a good idea as well.

Well built, quality blade!
Move over Kabar BK2 and Esee 5, there's a new sheriff in town. The Tops Knives Mountain Lion is another 1/4" thick full tang knife, but in a very impressive format, excellently balanced and extremely well built.Very impressed with the knife for a various of outdoors tasks. A tad higher priced than the BK2, but much less than an Esee 5. Only 2 things I would change: the sheath is very cheap for this knife, would've loved to see Kydex for it, and not sure why they decided to not protect the top part of the point, which I've blued to give off less glare and protect from corrosion.Overall, a simple, well made and extremely comfortable tool to use, at a decent price and covered by a lifetime warranty.
