I think having tried this, your child would be better off with a piece of fresh fruit or some dried fruit. Better still make HOMEMADE FRUIT LEATHER / JERKY: it’s dead easy!!! Boil ratio 4 cups any fresh fruit (pealed & cut up) to 0.5 cup water for 15 mins. Then add juice of lemon (for colour), sweeten to taste with any sweetener, add pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg boil 5-10 mins till thickened. Blend to a purée. Pour purée thinly 1/8-1/4” thick onto baking sheet lined with baking/greaseproof paper. Then put baking sheet in oven 170*F/60*C overnight (8-12 hours). When cold, mark the fruit into 1” wide strips with a knife, then use marks to cut through paper & leather together with scissors and finally roll the paper and fruit strips into rolls and store. ( if the ends are sticky dust in cornflour/maize starch)
