It can work
I can't wait to get this to the range. I think this will be a great training aid. I am a habitual "over the top swinger". This gives instant feed back. Beige so get into that...let me back up.The buildCan you make this from PVC? Yes, quiet easily. That said, this design I good enough to justify buying it. I think it should be around a 50 dollar price point however. The 2 base pieces are waited. I was not expecting that. They are heavy and long enought to keep the entire rig solid. The cross bar is held with a half PVC piece that will easily come off it you hit it. This will prevent injury and avoid damage to the club. It would even be ok without the foam. The assembly is easy, even though it does not come with intructions. Sime instructions would be a nice plus.I put it together and took a few swings in the house. Even with just going through the motions, I could feel me swinging in to out. Draw anyone? This start with the visual. I did not have a full swing because I was in the house. That will have to wait until we get warmer weather. I think the positive reinforcement will be amplified at the range. With many reps, the swing will change.I give this the Veal stamp of approval and would recommend it to people that I like.

I Could Have Built This With A Set of Chopsticks!
Expensive for no apparent reason. Don't send me crap! This is worth $19.99 max. A blow-up doll made out of sandpaper would be a better value.

SIMPLE CONCEPT, GOOD RESULTS w/PRACTICE, PVC A BIT LOOSE, WILL TAKE A BEATING
Is your golf bag like mine, adorned with 1001 accouterments for the betterment of your game? Do said accouterments end up mashed, slammed around in the car, and at the bottom of the pile when your bag topples in the garage? Me, too!The REAL upside of this device is that like a Timex, it takes a lickin' and keeps on ticking. And yeah, I may or may not have inadvertently whacked it with a club when I got a hitch in my back mid-swing, but it's still just fine, 100% intact.Out of the box, the connections were a little loose, which is good - you shouldn't have to bring sandpaper and PVC cement to the range/links just to use the product. But it's a little too loose-goosey, which is also fine, because there's always a bag of tape in my bag for blisters, bang-ups, etc. A half loop of Micropore and we're back in action. You could also use the receipt paper from the beer cart. Anything to tighten it up is fine.If you use this consistently and correctly, you'll get the feel - a 3-D mental image of how your swing needs to develop, and it won't be long until you won't need the device after you've programmed this into your muscle memory.Remember, too, when you upgrade your clubs to the latest and greatest, there's sometimes an adjustment period, so this is a great tool to help you re-groove your swing with new clubs. And it won't take up too much space in the time in between.Didn't come with directions, which is fine since I basically remembered the gist of using it, plus signed on to the tubes to watch a couple videos to see how different people made best use of their device. But one little sheet of paper with a diagram would be good for the days when 1,001 other things are going sideways and you don't need the hassle of looking up the right permutation on the phone, then noticing an email from your co-worker while you're on your phone, remembering that you needed to pay the utility bill and then ultimately, inviting the entire world into your practice session (they are not invited! Practice time is you-time).There's that great scene in Tin Cup where Roy jokes about getting the "golf watch," and I can't help but think of it every time I see a different game-improvement device. But some actually work, and this one will as long as you get it out and use it, and use it mindfully - be present in your swing, get some impact tape to see where you're hitting (or just hit on a dusty day) and train your muscles.I've also found that it helps me to queue up a self-curated playlist pre-practice that has the right amount of relaxation merged with the tempo of my golf swing (which makes it a kind of weird, non-homogeneous playlist, but it's not for a party). Anytihng in 3/4 time (waltzes of various ilk) help me remember an assortment of golf instructors whispering/shouting/uttering things during swing training.More importantly, anything that makes you enjoy the game more is absolutely worth the money. So think of all the money you'll save on lost balls, think of all the extra, relaxing time you'll have every game when you wait on OTHERS to find their wildly careering drives, and go ahead and invest. It will work as long as you use it. And hey, have some fun out there! It's just a game (heh-heh, right).

Golf training aid
This is a nice aid to help correct an outside in swing plane. It is durable and easy to use. It took me a bit to put it together as there are no instructions.
