This is a cute little project. A bit difficult at times as a beginner. I would recommend watching some YouTube videos about the stitches in the legend before starting because the included tutorial doesn’t really cover in detail. If you’re truly coming into this with no knowledge (like me), this isn’t going to cover everything you need to know in the beginning videos. It is convenient that the package includes all the yarn and tools necessary to complete! Lastly, I’d watch the first few videos before attempting in tandem. The head and neck took me about 3 hours to complete as a total newb.

I'm a beginner and became interested in this after looking at crochet products, browsed Amazon and found this product for half the price compared to other similar products. I bought it and found it to be great value for money, beautifully packaged with everything inside!This was the absolute best intro to crochet, with very easy to follow step-by-step video and written instructions, with troubleshooting and tips for if/when things go wrong, and all of the pieces you could possibly need! Plus, then you get a cute little buddy out of it when you’re done. My only downside, is now I have yet another crafting addiction (not a real downside ha). Definitely worth the price and tons of fun to make.

I knew a tiny bit about crochet when I bought this, and have plenty of experience knitting, so I'm fairly certain I'm capable of learning how to make this. However, the pattern is confusing, with commas placed oddly making it unclear where to increase or decrease; there's an abbreviation used which is not defined in the list of abbreviations; the video, when it actually loads, does not show clearly how to transition from one round to the next as the demonstrator's hands are in the way. Some of the videos won't load at all.I have started this and unraveled it again so many times, I lost count. My frustration is high. I even had a bit of help from experienced crocheters and they said the pattern was written poorly.No, I still have not finished my dinosaur. I'm ready to light the thing on fire at this point. Gave 2 stars because at least the yarn is very good to learn on (easy to see, doesn't split, elasticy) and the final product - if I ever get to it- looks cute.But don't buy this as a first pattern. Go get some scrap yarn and a youtube tutorial. It may or may not be helpful, but it'll be cheaper.

I am a little more than a beginner. The directions in this kit are terrible. The instructions include codes that you can scan for video instructions. If I wanted to watch a video I would get the instructions on YouTube. I am too impatient for that. Reading just the pattern instructions was a real pain because they used abbreviations that I was not familiar with. I sent an email asking what M meant. They did email me back to tell me that it meant something like increase three times. I’m have ripped this project out 3 times now. I am determined to finish it. I would not recommend this kit unless you are a real beginner and want to watch a step by step video. The materials, crochet hook, and accessories are of good quality though. I finished the little dragon. I ordered a book of crocheted animals on Amazon and through away the kit.

I received this as a gift and was so excited to learn how to crochet. Immediately upon reading the instructions I feel clueless. The. I began the tutorial videos and her accent is so thick and she talks so fast that I can only understand about every 4th or 5th word she says. Very disappointed.Someone needs to remake the instructions and video tutorials entirely. Clearly NOT for English speaking beginners.
