Really good quality and awesome for fermentation
I bought this to make all sorts of fermented foods and I’m really happy with the quality of the items they’re all made of good quality and I would highly recommend it to family and friends. If they make a 1 gallon one I’m going to purchase one in the future.

Fermenting crock
It was a gift for a friend. She said it was the perfect size and she loves it!

NOT as advertised.
When compared to a gallon Ball canning jar the crock is definitely not a gallon. And, the weights are too large to fit into the opening of the crock. I'm very disappointed. We do not have a cell phone to "capture" an on-line image...so I'm screwed about returning the crock. Lesson learned to buying on-line.

Great Looking Fermenting Crock - Can’t Wait to Use It!
I’ve been wanting to start fermenting things because of the probiotic benefits. Kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha… all so good for you. But it’s getting pricey. Why buy it from a store when you can buy the ingredients and make it yourself for a fraction of the cost? Plus, it’s as fresh as can be, you have total control and knowledge of what’s in it, and it’s fun!I’m very happy that I’ll be starting with this particular crock. Now, I’ve never done this before, so I can’t speak with experience… but this crock seems to be perfect at least for starting out. It’s a 1 gallon container. It doesn’t look like it can hold 1 gallon, but I also ready that people are putting two cabbage heads in these… if that’s the case, than this is more than enough to start with. The crock is a glazed ceramic. Everything about this seems like good quality - the crock, the lid, the weights, and even the muddler. (I know it’s not called a muddler, but you know what I’m talking about. I can’t remember the name.)Anyway, overall, I’m super happy with this and I will start fermenting this week! Get this… it’ll encourage you toward ensuring that you have enough fermented foods, no matter how expensive they get at the local grocery store.By the way, I made a nice unboxing video. However, for some reason Amazon keeps rejecting my review, so I have no choice but to leave them out. Sorry, I tried.
