A Perfect Husband

this is one of the best books I've read in years and I read a lot. Her story is amazingly different, up to date and beautifully told. I registered with each on of her characters and the way she moves on through her story is amazing. . whenever I had to stop reading for a while I couldn't wait to start again. I wanted to know how it finished but was desperate for it not to end. Amazing. I've read all her books and will probably now read the earlier ones again. Love it. Wish I could give it more than 5.stars.

I’ve read all of this author’s novels and they are all brilliant. She is so talented, so good at creating believable characters and telling their stories with kindness, wit and passion. This latest is no exception. Loved it

This is the third Hilary Boyd novel I have read, and I enjoyed this just as much as the first two. I bought it to read on holiday, and although the theme – addiction and its effect on both the addict and their nearest and dearest – might seem rather heavy for a holiday read, the characters are dealt with so sympathetically that it wasn’t heavy at all. In fact I found it so enthralling, I just zipped through it.

I started to read this book som time ago. I gave up for the time being as I could see where it was going. However , feeling brave I thought I would try again. This time I got to the end. Is this a laugh out loud book , no it isn’t. What it is , is a story of human emotions , a story that makes you think, but for grace of god that could be me.

I have read several of Hilary Boyd's books, they are mostly good stories. I did find this one a bit hard going and became irritated with Lily,s weak character and the way she seemed to tolerate her husband,s lies. The book got better as it went along but on the whole it was a bit slow. I did hope that maybe she would form a relationship with Seth and maybe we can suss for ourselves if this will happen as the ending is left open.

I have read and greatly enjoyed other books by the same author, but found this one disappointing. The main problem for me was that I didn't like the main character, Lily. I found her one dimensional, and quite irritating. The style of writing is still good but doesn't go deep enough, and I just couldn't get right inside the story.

I have enjoyed Hilary Boyd's previous books but have found this one rather slow, at times I have wondered if she actually wrote it. The initial plot is interesting but I feel as though she doesn’t know where she wants to take it.Not sure I will get to the end!

Another great read from one of my favourite author`s . Every time a different theme but written in Hilary Boyd`s well written way with twists and turns right to the end. Her books are never long enough and are unputdownable.

An easy read. True to life.
