Rudolf Serkin's recordings of the Brahms piano concertos are considered the standard of sheer virtuosity and the real Brahms sound. Serkin recorded these concertos twice, but this rendition of the Brahms second with the magnificent Cleveland Orchestra under the baton of George Szell is as good as it gets. The Brahms sound that Rudolph Serkin imparts to this concerto is like no other. It is without a doubt a magnificent performance.
