Low priced bi-metal with great performance
This is the lowest priced bi-metal yoyo I have, but you'd never guess it by the performance. This is a really good yoyo, and as a first bi-metal, you might want to consider this.First, I chose the grey because I like the color but they did have a lot of amazing colors. I was going to get the pink but I didn't like the color treatment done to the rim. The blues looked amazing. That being said, the colors were perfect with no flaws. The surface has a light blast treatment, the rims are well fitted and I do appreciate the etching to display the model and brand. I know some companies don't do this or don't consistently do this, but it is a feature I like, especially when one has a growing collection.Spinning, this is fairly smooth. It does well on the thumbnail test. It's not perfect, but it's way above what the yoyo costs. While playing, the bearing started to get loud as is normal when they start to break in. That goes away after a couple of hours, but a tiny droplet of lube often helps here too. Finger grinds are nice, but arm grinds not so much on skin but are good on most sleeves. Thumb grinds slow down quickly, but that could be a me issue. Yoyo does not want to go horizontal on thumb grinds, but is stable, so DNA tricks will require pre-correction. DNA isn't the best trick on this yoyo due to the slightly raised center area, but could be done. Horizontal play is stable. I was having issues with more high-risk binds because the response pads were just not broken in enough. A white pad or flowable silicone would take care of that, or even a thicker or stiffer string. I did nail them, it just took a bit more work than normal.Bearing is a fairly nice concave bearing. This yoyo does NOT include a responsive bearing or a puller and does not include an axle wrench, so this is an "out of the box" unresponsive yoyo, so be aware of that. I play unresponsive so for me it's fine. Pads are a clear pad, appears to be a 19mm OD slim pad(YYF standard) and can take flowable silicone.YoYo comes in a nice padded holder, with a glove and 10 strings individually wrapped. I like these holders. Strings are nothing special but you do get 10 of them, which is nice. I don't use gloves, but a lot of players do. Those of you who do fast Eli Hops have experienced string burn so yeah, gloves help prevent that. The entire package is just really player-oriented. This yoyo seems more 1A oriented, but would also be good for 5A. It could do 3A as well. This is my second yoyo by HKSOD. I've been consistently happy with them. I can't wait to see what they may release next.

I own some of the best Bimetals and this impresses me!
This yo-yo is amazing, simply put. Despite it's weight, it plays light and quite fast. I was playing a lot with Outlier 2-3 so when I picked up this, it actually felt pretty nice. The only down-side and I could be wrong about this, it appears to me they use a thinner aluminum or something, it doesn't feel as well-made as the Outlier 2-3. I believe you could really mess this yo-yo up with a good knock, or even possibly a small ding, however, I had zero evidence to prove this. Definitely worth the money. It's long spinning enough, however, even a cheap magic yo-yo non-bi metal could last about the same time at this. My five stars comes mainly from fun and how smooth it is, the super-long spin some claim, I don't believe that. I got almost 5 mins, which is still pretty good. But just to put some context into this, that same bearing spun for 7 mins on iyoyo shooting star which is a plastic yo-yo.
