Stil missing basic features 1 Year on...
Lovely looking device, but has some serious issues:Cant be wall mounted - as despite coming with a wall mount the software doesnt support it (you cant rotate the image so dont make that mistake like i did) - it can only go on ceiling. No alexa support whatsoever - Isnt this device from a "smart home" company? No zones on the people/motion detection - on a £200 camera?Push notifications are hit and miss at best, so no confidence youd know if there was somebody in your house - you know, its main purchase point.Realistically, for half the price of this you can buy a better camera with all the above features. The hardware is good, but its being DIRELY let down by the software teams lack of updates with basic functionality that should of been there from day 1 on such a premium priced device.Dont let the glossy images above fool you, its not ready to be on the market.

Great product, just overpriced for what it is.
As an internet camera designed to be used indoors, this is a great item and works easily with the rest of the other Hive products. Easy to set up, modern looking, and a good quality image, if you’re out and about or on holiday and you want to check up on your property, then just reach for your phone, open the Hive app and pop it on and you can see what’s happening back home. There is a zoom function and you can talk to people and hear their reply through the camera.I have a few criticisms however: firstly, it’s expensive. There are much cheaper options out there. Secondly, much is made of the ability to remove the cube shaped device from its mount and stick it in another location for a short while, but the internal battery only lasts about an hour which is of little or no use. You do also have the option however of simply removing the camera from the stand and simply placing the little cube shaped camera directly on a shelf or unit WITHOUT using the stand at all! There is a micro connector on the camera itself so you can plug it in and use it this way instead. Mine is positioned at the end of my sound bar near my TV and it’s hardly noticeable. The power supply needs to be connected on the underside but you can simply position the camera “upside down” so the power supply is now on the top, then rotate your viewings/recordings 180 degrees via the app! Very clever! Finally, and probably the most important factor to consider, is that unless you have a pet to check up on, or feel the need to spy on the kids, generally, there’s not much point to it. I mean, you’re on holiday, you switch it on to check on your home and see an empty room. Is that it? A bit of an unnecessary impulse purchase if i’m honest, but still a stylish and reliable piece of kit.

Bad service from Hive help- Great response from Amazon
I purchased the hive view on 28 October. First couple of weeks it worked fine, linked with motion sensor etc and I was very happy with performance. However, the ‘go live’ function then failed for no apparent reason. My Wi-fi is excellent and everything else in the home was working perfectly. I called Hive help and they told me to perform reset which worked but for only a short time. Since then I have reset several times and always it worked afterwards but then failed shortly afterwards. From this point I emailed Hive help, since it takes forever to answered on the telephone, this was on 25 November, and they acknowledged my help request on 26 November. I sent reminders for assistance but to date 3 December I heard nothing from Hive help.I then mailed Amazon this morning 3 December and within 4 hours received confirmation that a replacement was en route. Well done Amazon for prompt action and shame on Hive help who seem to have no interest in replying to help request.

Terrible service, do not buy this camera if you want it for anything other than viewing a live feed
I bought a number of these cameras so I could be notified if anyone entered my house and have video recorded of it.These cameras promise up to 24 hours recording, triggered by motion or when recognising humans, and the ability to talk to someone in the room using 2 way audio.I haven't received mobile notifications of the camera being triggered for well over a month, and just get them all in one go when I manually open the app.I could spend an hour in a room with the camera on human detection mode and it may record 20 seconds of footage. At best, maybe 15 minutes. And using a top of the range mobile phone with latest app and firmware (Hive are trying to play it off as an issue with older hardware and software but this is just lies), the voice that comes out of the camera is little more than a whisper. These issues have all been brought to Hive's attention on the community forum and they've been aware of them for months, but haven't done a single thing about it!Do not buy these cameras!

Peace of mind
Amazing quality camera really pleased with my purchase. I was lucky enough to purchase in prime sale, was easy to set up and I now have peace of mind when I leave my dogs for the day. I can tune in and watch them and also know if they were barking, as camera reacts to noise as well as motion. It has a surprising field of vision, and when it is looking at the back doors can see clearly far into the garden. It’s great you can zoom in too from your smart device. It looks modern and fits in on the shelf with rest of home decor. It’s amusing watching the dogs relaxing in the house when I’m at work, I have even spoken to them via the sound option!

Camera hacked and intruder spoke to me in my lounge!
Had Hive for years but just bought the camera a few weeks ago. My Hive account was hacked tonight. Someone started to mess with my lights and then set of a siren through the camera speaker. He then started talking to me, saying he could see me, had my credit card details! It was very frightening. I will return this until Hive have better security. Awful experience.
