Liquid Pencil 12Ml 12 Tube Set

I absolutely love Derivan's liquid pencil. I've used them a lot in the past. Usually I buy from smaller art stores that stock them. I'm assuming these have been left in a warehouse for far too long. The permanent ones were unusable. One was completely dried out and crumbled inside (due to being permanent it cannot be reactivated) and the other 5 permanent ones had separated from the binder. A frothy clear fluid came out and the paint inside was crumbly, it would not reactivate no matter what I tried. Thankfully all the rewettable ones were fine. But that's still paying full price for half to work. Think I will be sticking to the stores I normally buy from.

Excellent product. Can get a very nice sepia picture just like a Oldie worldy photo. It's also great when out and about, just your sketch book and a water brush. Lovely tones to all the colours

Interesting paints, I've only tried them on yupo paper so far and though they didn't quite do what I wanted them to (I was expecting to be able to scratch down to the paper and finish up with a negative line and wash), they did produce an interesting monochrome sketch of the Menai bridge.there are 12 tubes but only 6 colours, they are in a double set of removable and permanent, I would have preferred 12 colours in 2 sets. Though having said that there is little difference between some of the colours, there are effectively 3 or 4 distinct colours, the rest being more of a shade difference (which you could get by using more/less water. This is a problem with any of these types of paint, I have a set of Chinese watercolours which have the same problem - next time I'll combine the two sets and see what happens.

I previously owned few colours of this liquid pencil and I was so disappointed to find out that the tubes were smaller than advertised (10ml), some tubes were filled mostly with air, and the colours were wrongly labelled and all over the place. Instead of 2 of each colour I got:Rewettable : 2 x grey 9, 1 x blue, 1 x yellow, 2 x sepia. Permanent: 3 x grey 9, 1 x grey 3, 1 x yellow and 1 x blue. Just infuriating as I am working on a commission which I can’t tackle without the colours I need. Also- the packaging looks strange compared to the one you can see on the SAA website, the tubes aren’t labelled with volume, it’s all wrong. Go to SAA instead, it will cost you less, too. Returning.

Terrible scam, it's 10ml and not 12ml as per description. They even have that part photoshopped out in their product image so you don't see it's actually 10ml. Disgusting seller

The description said it was 12mls size but it came as 10mls. :/

I love these paints so far. I realized that I recieved two Grey 3 tubes of paint. Is there anyway I cane get a replacement tube?

Very pretty colors - easy to work with. Will get large size of favorite colors. Happy to be able to try them all out with this set, as some were surprising

I haven't played with these fully yet but they are the perfect number of colors for a whiskey painters palette (the one with water holder). They do have an interesting texture. The problem i ran into is that when I filled my half pans they have ALOT of unsettled and unmixed binder that will come out. I tried to gently squeeze and mix the tubes before pouring but that didn't help. You will have to use an absorbent brush to remove some of the top binder and let the pans dry a day or two. I think if you like muted color scenes these will be great to help neutralize some of my main watercolors.

This Liquid pencil set of colorus is invaluable for a progressive artist like myself who is always looking for newer and better means/mediums for expression! I tried this liquefied graphite some years ago in an art workshop I attended. I was excited and felt liberated by the lucidity and expressive qualities of these colours, and the subtle tone which I acquired through this Derivan product. Please keep it in stock as I am fast becoming a big fan and looking forward to ordering more in the near future as I gain a better; more lucid facility with this medium.
