Update: I’m upset that the battery is dead already! I looked it up online and the battery is inexpensive but I feel cheated because a watch battery should last 6-9 months For anyone else future referance it takes a CR2032 battery. I hope I’m not going to burn through batteries like this all the time :(I bought this product after my cat went missing for 6 days. I was a mess. I accept the possibility that something could happen to him as he is an outdoor cat who came with the purchase of my home. He is destructive when forced to be inside. And he is happiest outside. It puts me in a tough spot. And I worry a out him all the time. When I finally found him he was skinny and hungry. He had gotten shut in someone's shed for a few days. I wanted to make sure nothing like that ever happened again. With this item I can see where his is on my app. It does come in handy and gives me comfort. Carl is a very large male cat and doesn't seem to be bothered by the trackers size. Also he is used to wearing a collar so it wasn't a huge change. A few minutes of get mom what is this and he was over it.

I suddenly find myself in need of a tracker for my cats. Following my father's recent death, I'm moving in with Mom, who has dementia, to take care of her. I'm afraid she'll leave a door open. I read the reviews and 99% were positive, boasting of easy setup and a great app. All were as recent as 2 months ago. I bought 2 Pawscouts based on those rave reviews. I first noticed that, contrary to the online instructions, my Pawscouts did not come with a selection of mounts. Only one for the widest dog collars. There are supposed to be 3 different size mounts. Next, I looked for a pull tab to activate the battery. The units were already live. With a maximum 12 month battery life, how soon will those batteries die? I tried to set one up anyway. I registered my account through the smartphone app and began the setup. I input my pet's name and gender. It wouldn't let me proceed without adding a pic. I tried on from my gallery. "Oops! Something went wrong" I tried another pic. "Oops! Something went wrong" I tried using the app to take a new pic of my cat and save that one. "Oops! Something went wrong" The app refused to load a pic no matter where it came from and won't move past this point to continue registering my pet. After much ado, I was able to get a message of to Support explaining the problem. The response I received this morning was that they're aware of the issue and are working to rectify it. Well, I need a working product NOW, not sometime in the future. And if there were no problems like this a couple of months ago, what system problems will cause the Pawscout to fail when I need it working? I'm returning both items and looking for something that actually works.

Yes this tracker is large for a cat. But, I could deal with that if it works well. Unfortunately, I can’t review how it works because it arrived with a dead battery. Disappointing.

So far so good. The set up was easy. I was worried it would be too bulky (and for some cats it might be) but my easy-going cat doesn’t seem to mind. The GPS doesn’t seem to be too accurate. Im sitting next to my cat on the couch and it shows that she’s in my neighbor’s backyard, 3 doors down. That’s quite in an average residential neighborhood. So, while it might not help us pinpoint her location, it will at least give me peace of mind that she’s nearby. Time will tell if it’s actually helpful. If not, my next step is to get one of those find-your-keys beeper things to help us locate our little escapee.

I love this pet tag! It was super easy to set up, the app is cleaver with loads of features. The flush mount option worked really well with my cat's small neck. My cats are indoor, but I let them go out an hour each day and now I know exactly where they are. It's a really great idea and I love the community aspect as well.

I thought this tracker would be a bit smaller than it was. I put it on my cats collar and it was WAY too big for him. We thought we would give it a try and it works but only around our house and a few neighbors down. It doesn’t update as often as we hoped and goes out of range as soon as he is two houses away.

I tried for a day and a half to get this device to pair with my phone and no matter how or where I did it would not. I even contacted the company and they kept giving me instructions that were not on the app. In desperation I removed my cat's profile and started from scratch but it would not pair. I gave up and decided to send it back. I will find something else to track my cat on my 3 acres. He hides in the tall grass and I cannot find him unless he decided he wants to come when I call him.
