Cable works great on windows 10 home. Software is on cd, version 18 works great!
Cable works great, disk has all you need. It is 1.4.8 firmware and it works fine on Windows 10 64 home running the version 18 Techstream from the cd in the package. No need for virtual machine or old laptop. There is no virus, only the driver file triggers your virus scanner which deletes it. Turn it off during install. Included mini CD has ver 18 and ver 14 on it. I used the 18 but it has a driver installer that didnt work for me. I went into the version 14 zip file and found a drivers folder, extracted those drivers to my desktop. Went to device manager where the usb device has a ? and updated the driver to the one I just extracted. Cable works perfectly. Techstream version 18 works with patch file. Good deal.

THE TECHSTREAM SOFTWARE IS AN OLD V12&13 WITH NON-FUNTIONAL KEY
The techstream software is a very old version 12 and version 13. The KEY does not work either. Its a scam. I am disappointed.

2 stars because we did get the Mini VCI Cable to work - but not the software.
The software is bogus. It will install on windows 10 but the Mini VCI driver will not. Built a fresh windows 7 pc. Software and VCI driver installed. Was never able to get past initializing the software. It started a couple of times, took the license, then on the third attempt refused to even commence with the vehicle connection process. The instruction video is in Chinese. The tech stream included is versions 12 and 14. Not sure why both are included. Neither would work. Several hours of work reloading clean versions of windows and retrying, same result, failure. A friend directed me to a forum that has a link to tech stream version 8 that somebody posted on google drive. The software and the driver worked! Was able to successfully replace a 2008 ABS actuator and do the brake bleed, all the resets, code and dash lights. So, 2 stars and not returning the product because the vci cable did work. You just need a windows 7 pc and different software. Whatever.

This one worked for Prius Prime
After trying for many hours to connect using a different VCI and several different versions of Techstream running on different versions of Windows, I decided to try a this VCI. Bingo. After some small struggles installing the software, this one works! The package included a CD ROM with three versions of Techstream (V12, V13, and V14) along with X-horse drivers for the VCI. There are minimal instructions for installation. The V14 folder includes a video, which is helpful except that the presenters desktop is in Chinese so it's not easy to tell what options are being selected whenever the cursor moves out of Techstream and onto the desktop. The installation process for V14 basically involves connecting the cable to the laptop, installing the driver, installing Techstream and opening it briefly to select the X-horse VIM, then closing Techstream and clicking the appropriate 32 bit or a 64 bit patch file to launch the program. You have to launch it Techstream through the patch file but the patch file after opening it to select the correct VIM from a dropdown list. This is all shown in the video but it moves quickly without narration so it's hard to follow. The important thing is that after a bit of fiddling, it works. Most of these cracked versions of Techstream contain viruses so you either need a dedicated laptop with no connection your WiFi and no personal information on it, or you need to run it inside a virtual machine. I'm running it on a very old laptop with a very slow 32 bit processor running Win10. Techstream runs very slowly, so you don't need a fast computer to run it. I didn't try running the other versions that came on the CD. Their installation procedures appeared to be a bit different and I needed V14 for my 2018 car.

Does not work - spent hours trying
Software is in a Russian compression file that you need 7ZIP to decompress. Tried on 64 bit WIN10, XHorse driver never worked. Tried to downgrade 64 bit WIN10 to 32 bit, but the laptop I had would not allow it. Moved to old 32 bit XP laptop and XHorse driver loaded. Techstream loaded and followed the instructions, but would not work with the supplied key. Also has viruses, which you are exposed to since there is no active antivirus for these old versions of Window. Still haven't got it to work - so $40 wasted up to this point - earning one star from me at this point. Next will try the WIN7 virtual machine route. If I can get it to work I may upgrade the number of stars. The Chinese install video would be better if there was Chinese narration to explain. I have 5 co-workers that can translate for me. The crappy resolution video makes it very difficult to read the characters to follow what is going on.

Confirmed. This works, kinda.
Just to add a little context here, I am computer tech savvy and this did require a lot of skills. Having read someone else's review, I knew going into this, that the software had a virus. So, if you try to do this on a modern computer with antivirus software it won't even decompress the infected files let alone expose your system to a virus. So, what I did was use a 14 year old laptop, clean installed 32 bit Windows 7 (that alone was a rather significant hurdle) and installed 32 bit version of 7Zip to decompress the data. Lots and lots of hurdles but it's doable.

Hardware works fine
I was able to connect Techstream after following instructions on a Toyota forum. I did not use the software on the disc.
