Nice Forstner drill bit set, but the wooden storage box was damaged
Everybody sells Forstner drill bits, but this set came in a nice wooden box. That is why I bought it. Unfortunately, the bottom of the wooden box was smashed-in, making the wooden box useless. This was NOT a shipping issue, as the wooden box was well protected when I opened up the package. This was a packing issue at the supplier. Kudos to Amazon. I had a new bit set in 24 hours.

Well built, sturdy and sharp
These bits have a nice solid feel to them and work as advertised. I have only used a couple of them in soft wood so I'm not sure how they fair on anything harder but they seem like they'd get the job done. As a not-even-hobbiest DIYer, these are perfect for my needs.

Nice
Great case for the drill bits. Don’t know why all forstner bits have such a long center guide. When I am drilling deep into wood, I would like to have a square bottom and not a center spike that drills deeper and could penetrate through to the other side of the board. That is for rare situations so not such a big deal. Basically I was trying to make a deep pocket to make room for a bolt head that was inverted on a separate board placed on top. I have no need for the center hole made by the forstner bit. I guess I could use a router bit in that case.

Nice bits for the money
These are nice bits for the money. I purchased a set of the green brand from a big box store and they were dull and the center punch will often spin and never cut even with 50 lbs of weight behind them. I also have purchased a few single high end German Forstner bits for specific projects. If the German bits are a 10 and the green brand is a 0, after a few cuts these bits are much closer to the 10 but a fraction of the price. They cut beautifully with a nice flat bottom. They look well made, and hopefully they will hold up with moderate use.Give these bits a try. You can't lose.

Hobbyist use only
So I bought these a while back and have used them a couple of times. Worked absolutely flawlessly and were very sharp and accurate. Because i don't need them all the time, I will have them for years to come without wearing them out. Good selection in terms of size and powered with a 20volt drill.

Really rough machining, no QC
First impressions:Bits were never finished after grinding, just straight into a plastic bag with some oil and metal shavings. Most teeth are ground off at the point or chipped off. The main cutting edges show light chipping. There are burrs on every edge and the center points are ground off center. Most bits have dark discoloration near the outer edge of the cutting surface from grinding heat. I haven't gotten to try them yet but that tells me they ruined the heat treat in grinding and these bits will fail quickly. The jagged grind tells me they're going to tear out wood, ruining the purpose of picking up this style of bit in the first place. Also, they came in a balsa wood box, the kind you find at the craft store for $1.00 for kids to paint. First impressions haven't been superb.I'll update this review if my impressions prove to be any sort of wrong. Right now I don't have high hopes.Update: Used the 3/8" bit to drill a 5/8" deep hole into chipboard with a hardwood veneer using a power drill at slow speed, withdrawing to clear wood chips and checking the heat buildup. Started off chattering but ate through the wood at first. Began stalling half way through the hole, the bit had already been dulled!

Updated: They work, but not at all as other sets I've used.
Update: After using the bits for awhile I've gotten cleaner and cleaner holes. Last project was with ¾" plywood and the holes were perfect and clean. The dimensions are spot on. The only thing is that they leave a lot of uncut wood in the hole. This could be because I was using soft wood, but I definitely had to sand and debur the holes. The picture of three was this set. The lone image was another set.
