Sharpest knife I own!
As with the other reviewer, I cannot stress enough how sharp this knife is! The blade is not particularly thick (so probably not great for batoning or if you're wanting an all-round bushcraft or survival knife - it's not full tang either), so the grind has a very low profile and glides easily over skin, shaving hair effortlessly! The handle isn't varnished, so has a nice, natural feel and doesn't at all feel like you'll lose your grip; although I do notice that this same friction seems to make it tricky to remove quickly or easily from its sheath. But that would be my only complaint, and is a minor one at that. It is also a carbon steel blade, so keep it oiled, and buff/strop regularly or it will blacken. Mine had probably been in a warehouse for some time, and the flat of the blade had blackened on both sides, however it was easily removed with a leather strop and some compound. But for a sharp knife with a decent blade length, for light-medium duties or simply for whittling, it's a beautiful knife to hold, use and look at. Style and substance, with a deadly keen edge!

Great knife. The back of the blade could have been dressed better, but it came very sharp and works very well. The sheath part is very nice and secure, but I knock points off for the twisted leather strap intended to be a belt look. It doesn't look very durable or practical. It took mine off and chose to wear it like a neck knife.

A beautiful, razor-sharp knife.
I bought this for my grandfather. It's gorgeous and super sharp - very well-made, too. He's very happy with it.

Better than the Helles ?
I bought this knife last year and it has been my main serious go-to knife along with my Maarttini and Moras. I have some Helles too, and I must say I like this Kellam every bit as much as those if not more. The blade is long and handy for batoning and seems very tough. Workmanship is superb. It stays wicked sharp too. Be very careful taking this one out of the box. I sliced a crescent shaped patch of skin off the end of my thumb when I unwrapped this baby.

perfect knife
Great knife very sharp and it has stayed sharp after several uses, sheath is also well made. It is a very nice replacement for a knife from 20+ years ago.
