Rapoo1620 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mouse, Black

Not too big, not too small, perfect weight, comfortable in the hand, smooth hassle free, durable (previous one was going strong for 4 years and I dropped it a few times), battery never seems to run out, tiny dongle and it's cheap as chips too.UPDATE: Ordered a second one. It was identical, apart from the mouse wheel which was inferior. It had unpleasant resistance and noise when rolling the wheel. The wheel looked different too so seems like a different part was used, rather than being a defective item. Shame, as I want another one, but don't know if I'll get one with a good or bad wheel... The one I received was faulty. I bought from somewhere else and it looked physically the same, but the mouse wheel was smooth.

Ordered this after my previous mouse died. Very reasonable price, quick delivery, and set up could not have been easier, it took me longer to unpack it than to get it set up and running. After unpacking it, put the supplied battery in the battery compartment, installing and removing the battery is very easy and quick, plug the dongle into a USB port and everything is ready to go in less than a minute. The mouse works very well with no problems. If you need a new mouse I recommend this one. The only minus point I can think of is the supplied battery did not last very long, that was replaced with a rechargeable battery which so far has lasted longer.

I was surprised how quick this was to set up, all you need to do is take the tape off the battery inside and remove the USB port which is in the battery compartment and stick it in your computer, and hey presto it works! Comfy to use and I have small hands so didn't find it too big, seems just right. Very pleased with this

Came with a defected Dungle.

I received this mouse as a gift last Christmas (2020) and would have definitely given 5 stars - however, after 8 months of use, the scroll wheel has developed a fault. I'm hoping I've just been unlucky and am considering taking my chances on another one. I like the simple but ergonomic shape, comfortable to use, and great value for money.

Why I bought it for the second time is a long story. Hope you like reading.Over two decades, I have had a fair experience with not less than two dozens of mouses, both wired and wireless categories. As rookie mistake I used to go for those brands which make good laptops. And every time those mouses won't last more than six months. Then similar experiences were with those marketed by branded computer peripherals sellers. I'm not a professional gamer or media artist to push the boundaries. All I needed was a mouse with decent precision, comfortable ergonomics, and a bit of weight. That was not something beyond customer expectations. Then it so happened that I shifted my place and that fad of wireless peripherals also caught me in. So when my external keyboard broke down and I had no idea which one will be good in wireless category, I was just poking around. There one shopkeeper suggested me a combo from this brand, Rapoo. I had never heard of this thing before. So my gut said "No! Why should I?" Then that guy went on pushing the product, saying that it won't be that cheap again as the company has just launched it and there will be a complete replacement "guarantee" within one year. So with many doubts in mind, but with that one year guarantee (or even if it were waranty it'd mean the same at that time) I returned. That was in 2014, ten years ago. As part of the combo I got that wireless mouse too. It felt good.I should have been joyous at that. But I had initial doubts. My regular timeframe of six months passed, no batteries changed, no mis-click in either of those. So my initial period of comfort with indifference now turned into a genuine admiration. Ergonomics were real good in both. For just 800 rupees in INR, or let's just say $12 at that time I had a real pleasure for the first time in a decade.That set stayed with me for three years. Then the keyboard started malfunctioning. I had changed place and couldn't find another set in my present place. So I kept the mouse and bought another wireless keyboard from another maker. This time again keyboard broke in a year and at the same time the earlier mouse also started malfunctioning. So I bought another keyboard and mouse set from another brand, and spent another year. Again repeated that, could keep it another year. What I had earlier was not available in the market anymore.So in 2020, I decided to buy just the Rapoo mouse, and keep experimenting with keyboards. A local vendor had this model 1620. I felt relieved. And since then, I have changed two more keyboards before shifting to a mechanical one. But that damn thing, the 1620 model mouse stayed with me for over three and a half years! So when that poor thing stopped working, I just searched here if it is still available. And lucky me! The packaging has changed a lot. But the rodent is the same old! New on the left, old on the right.
