Lovely gift idea for a grandchild
Love the idea of teaching emotions through the use of a puzzle. There are many different facial expressions and it also comes with flash cards to add another level of play and learning. I prefer hands on learning activities for my grandchildren instead of using a tablet. This is one of my granddaughter’s favorite puzzles.

A great learning tool
I bought this for a very special little boy who is on the autism spectrum. He loves puzzles and games so I knew that this is right up his alley. It's a fun way for him to learn about emotions and the facial expressions that they cause. He's getting a lot better at recognizing the same facial expressions in his friends. The puzzle itself is very well made and sturdy. The wood is very durable and the graphics are bright and colorful.

Fun Versatile Feelings Recog/Emotions Puzzle, All Ages: Teachers, Counselors Check This Out!
This simple puzzle comes with 20 smooth, wooden, 2-sided upper and lower face pieces of 40 expressions, a wooden board, and a bunch of 2-sided matching cards. But you can invent any kind of game you want! It’s not just for younger children learning to match the faces on the cards. Awesome for anyone who needs to express their emotions or identify them without using verbal language. Older kids and even adults would need no puzzle board, just the faces. Teachers and counselors might find this puzzle useful. If you gave a child just the bag of faces and asked them to put some in the frame, you could ask how they’re feeling, if they’re having a hard time expressing themselves, They could point to how they feel, how they would like to feel, or how something made them feel: happy, sad, angry, sleepy, funny, wink, and several sillies (nix on the buck teeth, though). The sunglasses will be a big hit.You could also put pieces randomly into the frame, ask what emotion is expressed and maybe have the child make the same face, or take turns. Once the frame is filled, add a bonus: turn the pieces over and have a good laugh, identifying each face.Fun for adults, too. My spouse looked at me and commented, “Hours of fun, I see!“ My son tried it at his workplace. Let people know you’re having a bad day.Cards are sturdy. You might want to have them laminated. It’s a small detail, but I wish they made a slightly taller box in which you could put all the pieces and secure everything neatly, rather than leaving half in the frame and lose some.Definitely fun, useful and good value.

It's emoji potato head
This facial expressions puzzle is a great teaching tool. The pieces are all sturdy and well printed. The print is more like a thermal transfer and not a paint that will wear off. There's a good variety of faces too. There are 6 faces per card to use for making the faces a time trial game. The cards are reasonably sturdy and printed well. Though I'd recommend laminating them if you're using this in a place where you're working with various kids as someone putting them in their mount will quickly moisten and ruin the cardboard. Otherwise this is overall a great teaching toy.

AWESOME beginner matching game
This was a great gift for the kids. We had so much fun trying to mimick the faces to match, which seemed to help them understand. We also then talked about the emotions behind the faces so it was quite educational and really fun.

Great learning tool!
This little expression puzzle is a neat and fun way to teach toddlers about emotions and facial expressions. It’s a great size for their little hands. They can mix and match the puzzle pieces to create different emotions, or you can use the cards to mirror specific emotions. I don’t see this puzzle being something that they will choose to play with on their own, but it is a great learning tool! I’m a homeschool mama, and this goes perfect with our social studies lessons. It also works great for my younger daughter to play with it while I’m teaching my older child. If I didn’t take initiative in my child's education, I probably wouldn’t care about this puzzle much, so I don’t think it would make a great gift unless you know the family and know the parents will use this as a learning tool. The quality is great! The wood is smooth with round edges. It doesn’t seem that the paint would chip off at all if a child puts it in their mouth. Please note the size before ordering. It is not the same size as other popular wooden puzzles. It’s much smaller.
