An Entertaining Volume!!
This graphic novel is well written and composed. There are many good stories. One of the stories is about Amir getting into trouble and another story is about one of Ms. Marvel's aquaintances, Red Dagger. The artwork is of a high quality. The artist, Marco Failla who drew the Red Dagger story is superb. Overall, it is a thrilling volume.

Marvellous
Amazing, as always. This one is a bit less hilarious than the previous volumes, but still brilliant. The bad guy henchmen’s dialogue is that of an online troll. Which seems appropriate. At one point I was super upset by all the biryani that dropped to the ground when a certain character was abducted by bad guys.Serious commentary on world politics, with part of the plot mirroring Teresa May’s and Donald Trump’s political tactics of a “hostile environment “ for immigrants.Be prepared for a punch-to-the-gut plot twist. And finally I chuckled heartily at the slow-mo train wreck metaphor.

this is my favourite Ms Marvel so far
this is my favourite Ms Marvel so far! I just adored how everything came together and all the focus on family and seeing Kamala slowly return to being herself after everything that's happened lately. I can't wait for the next instalment. These characters are just my favourite of all the Marvel universe. GIVE KAMALA KHAN HER OWN TV SERIES PLS

The REAL Secret Empire story
Ms. Marvel Vol. 8: Mecca collects issues #19-24 of the series, containing a four and a two-part story. The first continues with the local government shenanigans in Jersey City (and is quite likely as close as we’re going to get to the Secret Empire business over in the mainstream comics), with the mayor ousted in some behind-the-scenes politicking, and the previously defeated Hydra candidate getting control of the city and setting up a police-state.The second story sees an exchange student from Pakistan arriving at Kamala’s school, and whaddya know, he too is a costumed hero (yes, I’d completely forgotten what happened on her trip to Pakistan), and mostly takes place on top of a runaway train – yes two issues on a very slow runaway train, but even a slow runaway train has a lot of mass and inertia. The first story is superb – and just about sums up everything that Secret Empire was about but failed to deliver in any meaningful or entertaining way, including several speeches that are so preachy but are delivered by characters in situations where, despite your brain recognising their preachiness, they are so part of the flow of the story and in keeping with the situation and the characters involved, that it is almost as if the writer has spent the eight volumes leading up to this point setting them up so that they are not actually preachy in the moment of delivery. If this had been a film, they’d probably have got an Oscar nomination.
