I like that blocks (paper) are glued on all four sides to prevent the paper from warping when wet. I just used a letter opener, slid between the pages to slice it loose. Smooth texture.

I needed to find an alternative to Arches hot press watercolor paper because of a smell and the use rabbit glue that is part of its paper production. Fabriano Artistico Hot press watercolor paper is just delightful to work with and is the alternative I needed. It enables me to lift light washes effectively and it is durable enough for light to medium scrubbing on its surface. It is a little bit more expensive then arches. The size allows me to try out the Fabriano Artistico hot press watercolor paper and decide if I want a purchase larger sheets in the future.

I am a beginner watercolor painter. A professional advised I not waste time painting on anything but 100% cotton paper. It really is superior for holding color and water in place and for blending.

I would like this paper a lot more if it was in a block. I paint very wet and even with taping the paper to a board, it buckles a lot.

I bought the paper for smaller projects at a very price, and was surprised by the current price for the paper. I like to do small cards for people I know using both watercolor and colored pencils, so raising the price on this paper makes me go back to less expensive brands. Otherwise, the paper is of a great quality.

All my expensive watercolors look so dull on this paper, just not worth using. I did not realize just how amazing Arches watercolor paper was until I tried this less expensive brand, it takes all the joy out of watercolor painting.

So far, I like the convenience of pulling out one page at a time. My watercolors work as expected, and the convenient 5x7 size makes it easy to glue onto colored card stock for cards. It has a smooth texture (versus a little bumpy in standard watercolor paper like Swarthmore) and is white versus and eggshell. Just what I wanted!

I am enjoying the smaller size of the sheets on this block. I've been a little obsessed with painting these small "cards" as a kind of art therapy and gave away several at Christmas. I like the smoothness inherent in the hot press over the rougher texture in the cold press. Just a personal preference!

I try to buy only the best watercolor paper - Fabriano. The vendor offered a great reduction during the Black Friday sale but it was so poorly wrapped that half of the sheets are not usable. An address sticker was placed directly on the thin plastic film that comes from the manufacturer - no bubble wrap eveloppe, no box, nothing but this thin plastic film). The thin plastic film was damaged during the long route from the US to Canada and half have been either damaged or soiled. At the end, the sale was not really one if half of the pad has to be thrown away.
