Zorn's organ improvisations are transcendent, inspiring, outrageous and ecstatic experiences, offering a direct line to the workings of his rich compositional imagination. In this performance, recorded live at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in 2013, Zorn creates a shockingly dramatic world of bizarre sonorities, spectral experimentation, hypnotic moods and stirring melodies. From first throbbing moment to last this third volume documenting Zorn's legendary organ recitals on majestic instruments around the world presents the power of organ music at its most surprising, extreme and sublime.

MORE EXPERIMENTAL, MORE CONTEMPORARY…BETTER
The music of pipe organ have always some beautiful and strange attraction . This is the III volume of John Zorn dedicated to this instrument. Is a recital recorded live at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in St. Paul Hall. I think is the better one, more innovative and also probably the organ is better. Have only three themes, The fall of Satan, Spectral Angels, The revelation of St.John. Is a solo organ improvisation concert by John Zorn. I like the music and also the modern sound of this special instrument. Sure the best of the solo organ albums from John Zorn

The Horror Part 3
The Hermetic Organ pieces are among my favourite Zorn releases, blending the repetition and pulse of Philip Glass and the stark avant garde atonality of early Penderecki. The stark first track here is pure avant garde, evoking a naked, creeping terror, while the second wouldn't be out of place in Glass's 'Einstein on the Beach', cool and hypnotic and richly evocative, and the third piece blends the the two strains to evoke the spirit of horror movie no-one has had the nerve tho make. Pure Zornian genius.
