Good for the money
To be clear, for what I paid at the time ($36) these are good brake pads. They stop my bike just fine and were easy to install (2003 VTX 1800C)Now the long part of this review. I waited until I put a few hundred miles on the pads to form my opinion. I believe these are fine pads for $36, however I can’t say I’d recommend them over any of the other budget pads. I chose these pads based up their 5 star reviews. The information provided by the seller stated they were better than oem and all the stuff every brand says that usually isn’t true. Anyway, comparing them to the stock pads with 20,000 miles on them they are about the same thickness which means the Honda pads probably had about twice the amount of friction material when they were new. Since I had them I installed them anyway using brake cleaner to clean the caliper and slides and also applying brake grease to the back of the pads and the slides when installing. Initial impressions were they stopped the bike fine and at first had no noise whatsoever. However, after having put a couple hundred miles on them I have noticed they have started to make some noise. Not bad, but enough that it can be heard. Also stopping power is less than the stock pads. Again not bad, but a noticeable amount.I am giving these a 4/5 rating because they are priced towards the middle of what aftermarket brake pads cost for my bike, but in my opinion there is likely little difference between these and true budget pads that are roughly half the cost of these. The thickness of the material is also significantly less than stock which means they’ll have a shorter life as well. However, they are serviceable pads and there’s no reason I’d change them out before they wear out from use.Key takeaway: They’re good pads, but I wouldn’t order them over other options.
