Executive summary: French Chic Beauty is a great reminder that self-care and self-enjoyment can really improve one's life in many more ways than we realize. I've already bought a copy for another busy working mom whom I know who is in the same boat as I am. I am a commuting, working wife and mom of a child, 2 dogs, 2 hermit crabs, a lizard, and several fish. I dress up daily for work and always look presentable, but the finer details of my self-care have come in last compared to everyone else's needs. While I had heard of many of the tips in this book (but needed a reminder), I also learned a few new tricks, such as the importance of using a clothing brush to keep clothes looking clean and new and that a hand steamer can quickly improve the look of clothing. This book also reminded me that I can do quick, basic mani-pedis at home weekly rather than going to a salon. It's just a matter of working self-care into one's routine. I love that Blanchard's books are so short that I can read them in one sitting. I have the other book by Blanchard, on fashion (I found this one more helpful, but that one was good too). I am about to purchase the one on home-making. I am really enjoying this influence in my life.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a book or better still, a plan to inspire me to start taking better care of myself. This book was exactly what I was looking for. A doable plan to start taking care of me. It starts out with small easy steps for getting your head in the right frame of mind. Seriously, I am so excited to feel inspired and confident to begin. I am 67 years young and I feel “stoked”. Thank you so much for taking time to write this. I have never felt confident before, never good enough. But I am positive that I can change that now. Nothing new here. Just a rehash of every other French beauty book. Don’t waste your money unless you’ve never read a book on French women’s habits before.

I enjoyed how easy it was to read and comprehend this book. There were a few new things to learn...even for this sixty something lady! LOL

This book spoke of everything that I learned in charm school as a young girl. This book is a reminder to slow down, enjoy life, and love yourself.

Loved the beauty tips in this book! It has helped me form a beauty regime to take better care of myself. It's wonderful how the author has so generously shared all the ways in which a French woman takes care of herself. The book itself is short, simple, straightforward and to the point. I would highly recommend this book to any woman who wants to take better care of herself.

Few specifics. Mostly about attitude, confidence, standing with good posture. Hardly any new information. More the size of a pamphlet than a book.

Selten ein so schlechtes Buch gelesen. Ich möchte mich modisch informieren und weiter entwickeln, kein Selbsthilfebuch für Frauen mit wenig Selbstvertrauen durcharbeiten. Wäre ich an Lebenshilfe interessiert, hätte ich ein Buch mit entsprechendem Titel gewählt. Zudem erwarte ich von einem Modebuch dem Thema entsprechend Illustrationen.

Simple and easy to read. Love the simplicity of the advice. The book allows any woman to realise her potential and cultivate a winning look.

I bought this so I could get more knowledge on French culture and how it the book proved to be very deep in thought.
