Product Description Potios is the full debut album release from former Witness frontman Gerard Starkie. About the Artist Gerard Starkie is the former lead singer with UK indie/Americana act, Witness. The band released two albums; Before The Calm (1999) and Under A Sun (2001). They both received the most extraordinary critical applause, some of which was especially reserved for Starkies own performances. The Times newspaper, for instance, claimed that 'Starkies vocals are imbued with that nebulous quality of soul fragile, sensitive and exuding a dignified stoicism doubtless born of experience' while Q magazines review of Under a Sun stated that 'almost overburdened by yearning melodies, chief Witness Gerard Starkie sings about lifes travails in aching tones reminiscent of REMs Michael Stipe.' The band quit Island in 2004 and soon later Witness disbanded with Starkie becoming a solo artist. In 2006 Starkie launched his solo career, releasing a demo album 'Drawbridge' as a free download. Gerard is now back with a band line up consisting of former Witness drummer John Langley and Joe Allen. His new album, Potions is released on Lupine Records.
