I just wanted something as a cheaper alternative to renting one from my new ISP. This one was easy to set up as well as being cheap. As it is wired to the property's master phone socket - that really needs it to be close to that. Not (in this case) an ideal place for a Wifi connection and so I have cabled it to a reasonable quality Access Point in a much better location. So, only using it as a modem - a role that it has no problem with.

As above, couldn't be much simpler to set up. I use it as a simple modem between the internet and my lan. All the beam forming WiFi stuff is done within the lan. Makes it easier to swap between providers and save money doing so.
