Worth every penny!
We bought this tracker for our 2nd rescue pup, Aspen, who is a mixed breed husky/shepherd. She is training well, however she is still not 100% consistent at recall when outside of our fenced in yard.We bought the tracker and had her wearing it attached via the split ring, hanging down like a dog tag. She and our other dog play together for 2-3 hours a day and at some point the tracker became detached from her collar. So, we bought a second one and attached it to her collar via the flush mount. Unfortunately, it popped out of the mount and we lost the second one within just a couple days.We contacted the customer support team and they sent us a replacement including a new flush mount. I double checked to make sure the tracker was securely attached in the mount this time. It's pretty tough to get it into and out of the mount - so I think the one we lost was because I hadn't securely popped it into the flush mount fully. When choosing a tracker we were trying to decide whether to use one that required a monthly subscription service (for GPS) or one that is based on cell phone pings/app users. We love this one and are lucky to have a significant coverage of users locally as a network. We would highly recommend this tracker to anyone looking for peace of mind in an area that's fairly well-populated and has good network of other users for coverage.

Ineffective, if not dangerous, in a rural setting
I really, Really wanted to like this tag. And, to be fair, perhaps it works great in an urban setting, or out on the open prarie, but for my rural location it's completely useless. The Bluetooth signal requires line-of-sight to operate properly, so, every little hill or dip makes the signal drop out. The refresh rate is also dismal - it takes about 30 seconds to get an accurate reading. Combined with the non-adjustable virtual leash radius (300 feet is a LONG ways away!) and paltry battery life (10 days...at most), I am supremely disappointed. For my circumstances, this is a zero-star product, but I understand it might have it's uses in other situations. However, I think the false security it offers is quite dangerous, regardless of where you are. 300 feet is really far away, and when coupled with the slow refresh rate, a pet can get in serious trouble in the time it takes for the human to realize something's up.The one situation I could see this being very useful would be when an indoor pet gets out and hides somewhere. If the animal is not moving, someone equipped with the app could easily track it down with a bit of patience. But a moving animal is going to be very hard to effectively track with this device. More people using the app together might help, but I still have my doubts.I contacted the company first with a question about the virtual leash, to which a representative responded quickly and politely, albeit with a slightly-customized and not-at-all-informational canned answer. When I wrote back a few days later with my observations and concerns...no response. It's been a few weeks now, and I haven't heard boo. Not the best customer service, folks!I've gone back to a simple bell for my one pup who is still learning to stay close, so that I can easily hear where she is relative to me when I'm working outside. I originally kept the tag just in case my pup ever ran off and got truly lost, but now I'm not even bothering with the battery, because replacing it ever other week is both expensive and incredibly wasteful. I had hoped this device could offer an extra layer of security when I'm distracted by chores, but I just have a very expensive ID tag. Ah well, lesson learned - there's no substitute for paying attention and taking responsibility!

Wish it worked better
This is a great product except thr Bluetooth always shuts off, every day. I have to manually push the tag on every day in order for it to reconnect to Bluetooth. I'd like if it stayed on longer. My dog got out and it "couldn't locate tag" because I didn't wake up the tag first. We can't predict when our dogs will escape. This definitely needs to be fixed.

and I loved it so much I bought this for my dog
I bought the cat version first, and I loved it so much I bought this for my dog. The app works great. It was easy to set up and sync with the tags. I love being able to track my pets from my phone. It gives me a peace of mind. The walk tracker is especially helpful in letting me know when/if the dog walker I hired is actually walking my dog. It was easy to convince our neighbors to download the free app and help us track our pets in case they get out. I love the virtual leash feature and custom nameplate. We no longer need that other dangling metal tag. This Pet ID Tag is lightweight and my dog and cat don't even know it's there! I thought it might be too big for my cat at first, but she doesn't mind it at all. The app is free, even if you don't own a pet, you should download the app because Pawscout relies on communities to help track pets. Besides pet tracking, the app also allows you to store pet health and medical info, and find thousands of pet friendly locations. This app is only going to get better the more people use it. There's room to grow, but it's off to a great start. Overall, a great product and service.

Worthless piece of junk
Setup and pairing with my phone took almost 20 minutes, and involved multiple restarts; beyond frustrating. Once it actually started working, it turned out there was no one anywhere in my area that had the same device, which basically meant it was impossible to tell where my pet was when he left the house. The manufacturer should publish an up-to-date map of all their coverage so people can see if the thing will actually work for them or not. What a complete waste of money.

OK for what it does
First of all, unless you live in a densely populated area the feature of other owners finding your dog is probably useless. It is not a GPS tracker. If you want one of those, I recommend forking out the bucks on a Tractive, which I also have. The Tractive has a virtual fence feature. Problem is, by the time it informs their server via cell and gets back to you via cell, your dog can be past that fence from anywhere to minute to 5 minutes. I can still find her anywhere on the planet with the Tractive, but she could have been out on the road before I knew she was gone. I wanted something to alert me if my dog wandered off when she was lying near me and I fell asleep or something. So I forked out the $25 for this to alert me to that and it works just fine for that purpose. Just remember that 300 ft via bluetooth is a stretch, it is more like 100 feet. BTW mine arrived with a dead battery, so it it does not work, try that first.

GPS needs some major improvement
I’m sorry but this thing didn’t work at all. It’s a good idea but the product still needs some major bugs sorted out. I tried tracking my outdoor cat with it but no matter where she was it was always saying the she was at the neighbors house, when sometimes I would find her a couple blocks away. Her location never moved at all (she was apparently at the neighbors even when she was cuddling with me at home). It’s not a complicated setup or app, but what’s the point really if it doesn’t work..

Practically useless, sorry I bought it!
This is a thick product, as it’s only Bluetooth it’s not nearly accurate enough without a beeping to allow the owner to track the pet. Doesn’t come with a collar, doesn’t come with a label to add with address. I feel robbed.
