Perfect for raising and adjusting bar height. Solid construction.
I have used this for four months, and feel I can now give a fair review. Like most of those looking at this stem, I wanted to raise the bars on my road bike. For ten years, I have been riding in a very "down position." It was never comfortable, but it was how it was. However, I am not "how I was" -- I am getting older, and craning my neck to see ahead from a very forward position was painful -- especially when running down a canyon road at 50 mph. So this season I installed this stem. Perfect. It allows moving the bars up incrementally until one finds the perfect position that fits one's style. Play with it, and you can find what fits best. I ended up raising the stem to about 40 degrees, raising the bars a couple inches. The stem is very well made, solid, and it looks good on the bike. It is about 3 oz heavier than my old 100 mm stem.If you want to raise the bars by a couple of inches, buy this 110mm version. As you rotate the head up, the effective stem length shortens. At 90 degrees up (straight up), the bars will be raised about 4 inches, but the stem length (from the post center) will be only about 50mm. This will change your posture on the bike, if you are accustomed to a longer stem. One caution: Tighten the adjustment bolt completely! If there is any "wiggle" at the pivot point, the bolt is not tightened properly, and it will slip, sending the bars suddenly down. Dangerous, obviously. The recommended tightness is 10 Nm -- which is 7.4 ft lb. That means about 30 lbs of down pressure on the end of a short 3" long hex key, and that is very difficult to do. Use a long handled hex wrench, or a torque wrench if you have one. Get it tight, get it right for safety. I have had no problem, and no loosening, after torquing the bolt properly and rechecking and retightening after the first week or so of riding. With regard to clicking or squeaking, reported by some reviewers: No problem for me, but I did rub some teflon grease into the pivot joint mechanism before tightening it up. You might also try taking it apart, and putting some WD40 into the pivot. BUT, be sure to get the pivot properly torqued thereafter. With regard to sizing and installation: Handlebars come in two standard tube widths. This model is for the larger 31.8mm width (about 1 1/4") bar diameter. CHECK the size of your bars! If you have 1" diameter bars, get the smaller size. The mount on the steering tube is standard, and same for all models. The steering tube mount is not as tall as most standard stems. Thus, you will need an additional spacer ring to place on the tube -- a 5 mm spacer ring did the the job for me.Addendum: After 18 months of use, I still give it 5 stars. I have made a couple adjustments over the months, and now have the bars just right for my style. This is a solid addition, and looks good on the bike, to boot.

This stem greatly helps my bar placement. It fits well and seems strong and rigid but I am an older mountain bike rider so I don't put as much stress on the stem as I once did on radical climbs.

It articulates great and looks good too
It articulates great and looks good too, but the quality of the screws concerns me because they will likely rust quickly. An important note to anyone buying a new stem, buy spacers too! This stem is shorter around the steer-er tube than my previous stem, so there is a small gap between the top of it and the stem cap. This gap makes the bicycle completely unusable because the fork is loose! All I need to fix this is one more spacer and then the fork will be back on tight, will be stopping by a local bike shop for that soon hopefully.

Great addition to a great bike
Bought this adjustable stem thinking I could raise myself up to an upright riding position. I was very impressed with the quality of the stem. Also, it adjusts a full 60 degrees so I have a good range of adjustments. I am very pleased with this purchase.

A good stem for the price.
I bought this in order to increase the height of the handle bars on my new bike - at 55, I'm not as limber as I used to be.On the good side, the product is as advertised, the finish is good, the graphics look nice, and it did the job.On the 'maybe bad' side, I tightened all the bolts to the torques noted, and the stem seems to produce a "creaking" sound when I ride. The angle of the stem has not changed, and I have re-torqued the bolts to make sure things are not coming loose. So, it may just be symptom of an adjustable stem. If it progresses into an actual problem, I will try to update my review.

Impressed by this so far. Installation was quick and easy although I did need to add another headset spacer like others have mentioned. Luckily I had some in my parts bin. Seems sturdy and definitely is useful in getting the handlebar height correct.
