Francesca Woodman

A very nice book,featuring a good selection of works by this great artist.Don't worry that the product details say it's in Italian - the essays are printed in English aswell.Said essays are also very good.Inevitably some of my favourite images are not here (one day my favourite Francesca Woodman photograph will surely appear in book form...won't it??!).On the whole the Phaidon book by Chris Townsend is better,simply as there is more of it(and it's easier to obtain),but I'm certainly delighted that I was able to get hold of a copy of this book about Francesca Woodman - the photographer who has superseded the great Duane Michals as my favourite photographic artist (sorry Duane! I realise that your work was clearly a big influence on Francesca's,so there's a great deal of credit to you for that!). Francesca Woodman
