Its 2.5 feet, extends to 18 with very little bending, stays pretty solid, the hook is nice and sturdy so you can pull without worrying about it snapping.Between the size and the strap you can navigate attics with it pretty easily and the 18 foot reach is great.

Game Changer
This is a game changer for cable runs. Its pretty sturdy, extends out for about 20 feet, and has a detachable hook om the end. Also you can open the bottom and seperate the segments in case one breaks. My only complaint is sometimes it makes the T&M tickets go by too quickly.
