Good and hard.

I have bought several tins of this glass-fibre reinforced filler - I used it as a surface skim over my corrugated and flaky foredeck, and to provide a smooth surface on my keels for hard antifoul. At 1.85 litres a tin, it is a good size, and far cheaper (per kg) than equivalent fillers (Isopon P40 etc.). It is easy to mix (wear gloves), is sufficiently sticky and stiff to be applied to vertical and overhanging surfaces, and it dries quickly (20 mins) so you can apply several thin layers if necessary. Its easy to sand (but wear a mask - the dust and fibres are not good for you) and can be painted.

I needed a LOT of strong filler to make up for rotten wood in the frame of an old lean-to scullery. I wanted to work on the frames without removing the glass so after scraping away old rotten and powdering wood from the frames and "hardening" what was left with Rustins wood hardener I filled the large gaps with this U pol B Glass Fibre Bridging Compound. It was surprising how much was needed but one 1.85 Litre can was enough to do all my poor frames to levels just below the final surface and finishing to full surface height with U pol easy sand. The result using the glass reinforced filler was easily achieved and very strong. Much better than earlier attempts with just unreinforced fillers that are quite weak and drop out when the real wood swells and shrinks with atmospheric moisture.

Got for a project very good stuff

I was mixing this on a piece of cardboard. After I’d finished and it had set, there’s was a thin film left on said cardboard. It was extremely difficult to fold and put in the bin which really says it all - this is very strong. Good stuff.

Fair amount of it and comes with two catalyst packets, longer strand fibres I’d say on average each strand around 1-2 inches, sands well with a orbital sander
