Molasses Without The Bite
I took a chance on this. Most molasses you buy in a grocery store is sorghum - sugar cane - based. The flavor is very intense and can be overwhelming. I've long been a fan of carob and thought I'd try this because I haven't used molasses in years.The flavor is mildly sweet as carob pods are and the molasses can be used on or in anything. My wife makes homemade granola and typically uses honey and maple syrup to sweeten the mix. We've tried this and like the extra pop of flavor molasses brings and the subtle carob flavor. Can easily put it in your favorite hot beverage in lieu of sugar or honey and it adds a touch of sweetness.
